So I'm guessing it's just a preference for the type of football that's played in England? If you're discounting how gash they are against their counterparts across Europe?

That's fair enough, it is an enjoyable league if overhyped, their massive games have a tendency to be low scorimg affairs which I find quite annoying but otherwise it's fun to watch, it's quick, robust football with a bit of quality sprinkled on top.

On a footballing level though, what you find in Spain and Germany is far ahead of it.

EDIT: Barca and Real have both lost more times than Chelsea this season, infact Real have been beat as many times as Arsenal who have been described as inconsistent. I think that shows that will they are capable of dishing out pumpings, the quality in La Liga still means they can get beat off of anyone if they're not playig well.

How is it more competitive though?

The relegation, CL 4th spot and Title race are all more competitive in Spain :39: in addition to the higher competition they are also better than the English teams.

That did cross my mind as well.

Along with at least it gives the Sevco fans something to celebrate while their "big" team just get worse and worse.

I think because Barca and Real regularly horse teams be 5/6 Tim thinks the League is uncompetitive and that the wee spanish teams are pish but hes never thought how do Atletico or Valencia or Sevilla never win regularly by 5/6.

Real Madrid and Barcelona would be Aston Villa, QPR, Burnley, Leicester, Southampton, Everton, Tottenham by 4/5/6 all the time too. The reason they do it is because how good they are, not how * the teams theyre playing are.

I think it's the knack for things like the Liverpool - Crystal Palace game last season.

I've never really seen that kind of thing happen in other leagues.

Real and Barca regularly do it to teams in the Champions League, they along with Bayern Munich are playing football ona. Completely different level than anyone else in the world just now.

Agree with every ILTC and Dev are saying.

Barca and Madrid have been beaten more this season than Chelsea and City! They might have more money but that doesn't mean its more competitive. The small teams in Spain have the same likelihood of beating the big teams as in England. Although this season the smaller Spanish teams have scalped the bigger teams more compared to their English counterparts.

The only difference is the fact Barca and Madrid are just on a level above Chelsea and City.

Stoke and West Ham and such would absolutely murder the teams that are in the same positions in Spain.

Aye, Barca beat Leverkusen 7-0 or something last season was it? Messi scored 4 or 5 against them.

    No they wouldny.

    Stoke V Espanyol
    West Ham V Celta Vigo

How would Stoke and West Ham murder they two? Celta Vigo almost beat Real Madrid last week, think it was 3-2 to Real Madrid but Celta Vigo outplayed them a lot of the time and had a lot of chances.

West Ham would struggle to get a shot away against Real Madrid.

A couple of years ago Stoke qualified for Europe and were beaten home and away by Spanish opposition.

    01. Barcelona - Chelsea

    03. Atletico Madrid - Arsenal
    04. Valencia - Man Utd
    05. Sevilla - Liverpool
    06. Villarreal - Tottenham
    07. Athletic Bilbao - Southampton
    08. Malaga - Swansea
    09. Espanyol - West Ham
    10. Celta Vigo - Stoke

Id say the teams in bold would all win, not a single English team id say would win.

the biggest one I could think there is Swansea to beat Malaga but they're not exactly you're typical English team are they?

Newcastle would take Levante, surely? Even in current form.

Really? I think Malaga would win tbh - they're quite tidy to watch when they are at their best. They are just inconsistent is all.

Yeah, if they actually tried to play football instead of the pish you see them play every weekend.

They would never "murder" mid-table Spanish sides, not in a million years.

Swansea and Malaga I thought were the two most equally matched sides. I think theyd probably both finish about 8th in either League.
