Wit about their subs as well, was like he brung on defensive players as a joke for Chelsea being called boring, either that he watched the Mayweather fight and wanted to go more defensive than usual.

Ended the game with 6 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders playing :smiley-laughing002:

If we were in the Premiership and won it the way Chelsea did,we would all be creaming ourselves.

Doubt it, 12 years of spending £100's of millions and playing defensive boring football.

The Spanish league has Barcelona and Real separated by 2 points and will probably be decided on the last day, like it was last year between Barcelona and Atleti.

Aye Barca and real Madrid winning 8-0 here 7-1 there is that your idea of a competitive league?

Barca and Real have drained the league of money.

They are neck and neck because it's like shooting fish in a barrel until they play each other, fair play Atletico are in the mix kind of now but they are still dwarved by the other two in every possible way.

Stick Barca and Madrid in any league and they'll finish top 2 in every one bar maybe the German.

And give them the same TV rights they do now and everyone else in those leagues will be skint in no time like in Spain. :smiley-laughing002:

In recent years maybe, however people totally just forget Man United winning multiple titles in a row or the fact that since the league has been created they have totally dominated it. I posted a few days ago genuine title contenders over the year and its nowhere near what people think - its not 4-5 teams, its usually 1 or two.

    1995-2004: Man United & Arsenal
    2004-2008: Man United & Chelsea
2008-2010: Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool (genuinely they only period I remember a wide degree of competition)
    2010-2011: Man United & Chelsea
2011-2013: Man City & Man United
2013-2014: Man City, Chelsea & Liverpool
    2014-2015: Chelsea (genuine)

Just because Barca and Madrid pump teams and Chelsea and Man City don't, doesn't mean the league is not competitive - it just means the best in these leagues are better than the best in England. People totally forget how competitive the mid-table/lower-table can be in Spain and Germany.

For true competitiveness, France has been by far this season.

It could be worse, it could be a one horse SPL where Celtic are by far the superior team:smiley-laughing002:

Well it's a title race anyway, one slip up for either Barca or Real in their last 4 games would probably be terminal for either and both have tough games still to come. I'd far prefer that to one team shitfesting their way to the title by scraping 1-0 wins against mid table teams whilst playing 6 defenders. You don't get that in the Spanish league, 9 times out of 10 the title race goes to the wire there and outside the top 2 it's a genuinely competitive league otherwise.

I still watch the English league but at least La Liga has some excitement and a title race at the top.

Also, Madrid and Barca have been beaten more this season than Chelsea and Man City, just saying......

Read this article the other day which addresses this pretty well.

    True.

When I think about competitiveness of a league I like to take into account all the other teams in the league.

Man city and Chelsea have to play teams against teams with decent resources.

Barca and Real virtually play against teams week in week out whose full club you could buy for the price of one of the barca or reals players.

    :smiley-laughing002:

It wasn't a shitfesting, Chelsea for the first 6-8 months played decent football by all accounts.

Chelsea were worthy champions until Spurs battered them, then Bradford and PSG.

They realised they were found out when attacking and had to sit back and defend.

They were incredibly lucky to beat Stoke and QPR when they were forced to attack. If they draw those 2 games the season may have just turned out differently.
