2-0 West Ham, great counter. Moses was unlucky hitting the bar.

Jack Wilshere out for 3 month having surgery. Beyond a joke how much he's injured 7 year ago he made his debut and he still hasnt reached 200 career games for Club and Country.

wilshere was perhaps the only english player in the last ten years whose hype was truly deserved, he really seemed to be on his way to become world class, and a world class, creative, skilful english midfielder is as rare as a good nic cage movie. alas was not meant to be, I hold little hope for him, his injuries are too frequent and too debilitating to allow for him to progress any further.

good thing we've got henderson, future england captain! (or so liverpool fans say) the few and occasional good players we've got are either alcoholics (gazza), injury prone (robson, rooney, wilshere, now shaw) or misused (scholes, waddle). In terms of individual quality and talent dont think english football has ever been as devoid of real talent as it is today, and with a dinosaur in charge like hodgson to expect anything other than ridicule in the euros is deluded

I said last season that I thought he would be a one season wonder, and it's looking a bit like that. Everything he hit last year went in.

When you seen some of his goals.... half of them were belters.
Couldn't hit a barn door with a machine gun now.
He had only scored 14 goals in his career up until last season so i don't think he will ever be a 20+ a season player.
He is slow off the mark and his close control, first touch and dribbling are *.
His positioning and timing of his runs are excellent though.
He's a bit like Chris Sutton without the homicidal look in his eyes :smiley-laughing002:

I rate Charlie Austin higher personally - he is a goalscorer. Don't know what he has to do to get in a decent side. He'd smash them in for Spurs/Liverpool/Everton level teams.

Some were belters, but he also carried a lot of luck I thought. Scuffs into the ground were even finding the back of the net most of the time. I don't particularly rate him either. I don't think he has anything to his game that really stands out. I think he will be doing well to get into double figures in terms of league goals this season. I quite like Austin as well. Surprised nobody bought him.

The only good talent they have is sterling, even though he couldnt hit the target from 1 yard out. Even that liverpool striker who's always injured is quality (again always injured :56: ) maybe even that stones guy. Thats about it though, they are *. Its a shame as i enjoyed watching England of old with gazza etc enjoyed it as they were the only players i really knew as a kid.

I thought the same mate, seems a decent scorer but I wouldn't be surprised if he finishes his career with that as his best ever season.

I put on a score bet on with my mate at the start of the season that Harry Kane wouldn't reach double figures for Spurs.

He's a one season wonder imo.

I had an inkling along those lines too, but although i think he had an exceptional season last year, i do still think he is top drawer. He wouldnt have even made the first team as a young guy if he hadnt been doing it in training.

Looking at his stats on wiki its clear he has a decent strike rate even as a youngster, so i think he will come good again.

sterling and sturridge are both talented but their attitude is typical of english players nowadays, thinking they've made it just after one or two decent seasons

smalling is going to be a very good defender, and so its going to be stones. Kane I think he'll eventually score a goal and find some confidence back. I disagree hes a one season wonder, I think hes actually a pretty good player. Not top drawer though

I think we've got defenders and strikers but what wins you titles in modern football is midfielders, and we dont have one of those. Players like delph or barry start for england, even carrick, whos a pretty good player, is 34

    * thats so harsh on Sturridge, he's been pretty much injured for the last 2 years.

I put a wee £20 bet on with my mate that Kane wouldn't hit double figures this season, I'm convinced he's a one season wonder.

I can understand why anyone would think that about Sterling when you take into account his actions over the past few years, but Sturridge?

I've not really heard or read anything to suggest he's that kind of player.
