I agree mate, Real were terrifying the year before, as soon as you attacke pd they had Marcelo, Di Maria, Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema all going forward at unbeleivable pace.

Even Ramos and Pepe carry the ball forward quickly, Modric moved the ball up the pitch at a very quick pace.

It was very effective and the pace of it was exciting to watch, so not like it was bad football either.

I think Sanchez had a poorer first season at Barca but his 2nd he actually really came onto a game, was only really sold cause Saurez is better than him but Sanchez for me took over Pedro then.

I dont just mean the odd quality goal or that either like an overhead kick. Was talking about really turning it on in a game, I cant remember Pedro having a great game in a fairly long time, a few years ago he seemed to always pop up with goals against Real Madrid or in big European games and was always there or thereabouts in bigger games but its been a good while since he last done the business I think.

Obviously not been playing as much but still, Pedro I think more being at his best when Barca had Villa and Messi as the front 3. In the last couple of seasons of Sanchez then Neymar he's just not done as well.

They may not be a bigger club they're in a far far far better position currently.

Aye your right, sorry a step up then. Di Maria will be leaving a bigger club to go to play in a poorer league. Good league of course but not EPL level which I'd class as the 2nd best in the world.

So Di Maria will be having a step down.

Yes but it's fair to say Man U are on the up again with the reap building job. There still looking to bring in players. As are probably PSG.

Man U are still in a dodgy position I think, few weeks ago I thought they'd be looking good but now when you think, if they lose De Gea, theres really no replacement they could get the only other keepers as good are Cech, Courtois, Buffon, Neuer etc I like Valdes but seen they have basically binned him, they wont even get a replacement keeper who is as good as Valdes I cant imagine never mind De Gea, they really should have went for Cech before Arsenal got him.

Di Maria I thought they'd keep and play 4-2-3-1 with him on the right but he's been sold. Pedro would be a good replacement but him and Depay both play better on the left I think so thered be a wee problem there with who had to move to the right or who knows they could play differently.

Centre-back, much like goalkeeper theres just heehaw they can really do there, all their centre-backs are * but there's really not much options about for them to do anything. Not sure about Otamendi never seen much of him but even if they get him and he's good the partner is still going to be a diddy.

Then up front, Rooney is not what he was and there's not many options for them to sign either.

For Man U to get "back" fully, id say they really need 4 top signings + keep De Gea. Otamendi, Hummels, Bale and Pedro for example id then say they are back and a top team again but the odds of that happening must be non existant.

Rooney has always delivered when played up top. Always.

Pedro is very comfortable on the right. Seen him play there excellently for Barca over the years. There desperate to keep him.

No matter who they get for in goals he will be a step down from De ages, agree there.

CB does need heavily improved. Agreed.

Central midfield is really strong though.

A step down in league but not in the team. They are a bigger club, right now they aren't near them as a team though.

PSG are better, but a would say Man U are near them now with there new signings. The only team Man U aren't near is the big two in Spain and Bayern.

Schweinsteger, Depay and Pedro(looks likely) will be excellent signings and lift them up closer to PSG and Chelsea who they were well behind last season.

A CB or two and there a CL contender never a EPL contender. Not a favourite for it but in with a shout.

Another thing we forgot to mention is that Depay can play up front and is a very good finisher. So that would help if Rooney got injured.

    ......Schweinsteger Schneiderlin

    Pedro........Mata/Herrera ....Depay

    .................Rooney........

    Looks really strong.

A know some Man U fans are happy with Mata but I've been a bit underwhelmed by him since going there. Hoping this is a really good season for him.

It does mate, problem is they need a left back and two centre backs or else there defence looks worse than average. De Gea is the only one who stands out as anything special.

Chicarito is going, looks very likely, so while it's a good first time it's poor defensively and lacks depth.

Also, it depends if Schweinstieger is fit enough to play a full season. If he is that raises them up several levels, if he's not the midfield isn't the best either.

Left back is cover they signed Shaw last year for 20 million or something, and Danny Blind is more than capable there.

Right back they signed that new boy Matteo Darmain.
Don't think I've seen him play myself but they seem to be delighted with him.

Certainly need a CB or two.

Even without Schweinstieger they have Carrick who has been tremendous for them over the years. He was superb last year he's always been underrated imo. Although obviously not as good as Schweinstieger.

Seen today apparently Man U bid 100m for Bale twice. Ceazy money that:smiley-laughing002:

Shaw I don't really rate, not up there with the best in the world anyway, which you'd expect for United. It was £30m as well, ridiculous.

That Darmian is getting raved about, I'm looking forward to seeing him. Everything about the squad as a whole seems to scream at Fellaini as plan B to me. Regardless of if that's defence, midfield or attack :56:

They're running thin on in depth quality, they'll get there though. No doubt.

Man Utd are basically doing what Chelsea & Man City have done previously, and that is buy the league. They have spent ridiculous sums of money over the past few seasons.
