He could have got them top 4 and still got sacked Levy was talking with Van Gaal since jan .

This sums Spurs up - Spurs have 6th biggest budget in PL. Last 5 finishes: 6th, 5th, 4th, 5th, 4th. All 3 managers sacked. The problem is Levy's expectations.

 

Spurs have a mental block with regards to Arsenal...if Arsenal come 4th then there is no way Spurs will get CL football - they just don't have it in them.

 

Thing is you could argue Spurs have a better squad than Arsenal,but as you say they can't seem to beat them or any of the top 4 either lately,there was just far too many players brought in and threw together all at once

 

Arsenal have better players, Tottenham just have a larger Squad.

 

I quite like Sherwood, hope he gets another job in the Premier League next season. Spurs have treated him shabbily.

 

12 managers in the Premier League sacked since the start of the 12/13 season.

Crazy, clubs expectations are to high sometimes. A manager needs time to change the club round. I understand if its been a total disaster like Man Utd but clubs like Spurs and West Brom met expectations. And it looks like Fat Sam may be next out the door today.

Showed AVB's win % and it was the highest yet he still got sacked. They did bring in too many players at once but I think he would have done a better job than Tim Sherwood in the end.
It's just crazy the way they go through managers in the premier league. Just expect success and aren't willing to wait.

 

AVB and Sherwood's problem was their lack of experience, players don't respect them.

Problem with Spurs is the chairman signing players not the managers. The whole Lamela epidemic was an utter disaster, 30M and both managers don't play him and its constantly put down to 'injuries'.

 

I heard last night on some programme, that QPR have a bigger wage bill than Athletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.............! Absolutely mental!

I soooo want Derby to win now!

 

I think it was posted a few months ago that QPR's wage bill was higher than Dortmund's was last year. Not sure about this season though. Even so, that means the Champions League runners up, were paying less in wages than a team that got relegated from the EPL.

 

Well i only heard it last night, so i guess it is currently the situation, and they have invested heavily in getting straight back!

QPR is an example of all that is wrong with modern football in my opinion. Really don't want them to get promoted.
