I supported them when I was younger but I wouldn't really call myself a fan now.

They made it into the biggest competition in club football and screwed their rivals out of Europe in the process. I think it's only natural that they'd celebrate like that. Hopefully they strengthen in the Summer and start challenging for the league again.

No chance, not to the extent they were.

For a club the size of them it's completely embarrassing.

Is it also embarrassing that every single Celtic supporter celebrated reaching the last 16 of the Champions League? After all, it's not as if we won it

Tbh i could see liverpool reacting the same way if they were to reach the CL spot again, obviously they havent been in it in a few years but theyre also a much bigger club than arsenal. Its a tough one, you both have a good argument tbh, 4th or 3rd is as good as they couldve hoped for so why not celebrate it but at the same at the start of the season the majority of people wouldve expected them to finish 4th anyway.

Difference between winning the league and finishing 4th.

I never said they shouldn't have celebrated it was just that Devlin's point was their celebrations were over the top and they acted as if they won the league

Coutinho has made some impact, scored and created goals for fun. Only thing is there seems to be a lot lacking from his game. The likes of Cazorla and Kagawa who play a similar way arent scoring or creating much more or even as much but they get about the pitch and just seem more involved in games.

If he can progress a bit he could be great.

Ah, the old put down Celtic to stick up for another club. Good one.

Were we expected to qualify? It's a genuine achievement for us to do so.

    That wasn't celebrating a failure

I see what Devlin means. Arsenal have been finishing in CL spots for 16 years, why are they now celebrating it like an achievement?

Man City wouldnt even celebrate finishing 4th on the last day and they've only recently became a top 4 team.

Celebrating coming 4th would be like us celebrating about getting 3rd in the CL group and going into the Europa League. Its decent but should never be celebrated, celebrating should be saved for when your achieveing more than you expected or winning trophies.

Exactly, I still think it's strange that Arsene Wenger has somehow managed to convince Arsenal fans that just getting into the top 4 every year is successful.

It's really not, it's failure to win anything really.
