They obviously grew in support, but their attendances haven't really risen dramatically.

Anyway, I had 20 quid on QPR at 20/1 so was quite gutted when i heard the news at work, the sheer hurt it's caused yous Man united fans has made up for it though.

    Funny.

You've not got a leg to stand on calling anyone a glory hunter Moncur, you support a club from a different country whos games you dont attend, and whos support is full of glory hunters, solely on the fact they win trophies, cant think of any other reason why anyone would support manchester united

What a great argument on a Scottish football team's forum heavily populated with Irish people. Not all of them make it to games either.

Great history, fantastic players, play good football, maybe like in my case my da supported celtic and man united so i followed through his influence when i was only a cub, you would sound like a right * if you were to call a youngster a glory hunter afterall. Then theres the whole if your not from the country or utds case if your not from manchester and dont go to games everyweek your not a real fan statement. Curse them asian fans who get up at 4am to watch their teams games on * internet streams instead of flying accross the world to OT everyweek like they should .... shameful. Selt-righteous much.

Since 1947 United have had a higher average attendance than City every year. I doubt they were glory hunters.

When United were relegated to Division 2, they still had a higher average attendance than City and every other club in Division 1. Still glory hunters?

Uniteds following grew after the Munich air disaster, mainly due to sympathy and how the club recovered from that disaster. Glory hunters?

Someone compared Uniteds debt to Rangers, the simple answer is that Uniteds debt is manageable depending on Champions league qualification. United were debt free and generated their own cash before the Glazers raped them.

The majority of genuine United fans I know, refuse to set foot inside Old Trafford due to the Glazers. I'd dare say the fans would be happy to go trophyless for the next 10 years if it meant getting the Glazers out.

If the FFP is run properly then City are fu<ked as they spend more than they earn.

That being said, City played the best and most exciting football this season. Fair play.

Finally, Tevez is a lowlife scumbag.

Supporting Celtic is different, as you well know we have massive irish roots. I just hate people who support a club for their success, but I suppose it's natural.

There's very little people who support Celtic because of what they've won.

I'm not saying you have go to games, however moncur called Man City fans gloryhunters for the reasons i imagine i've given as that's the typical glory hunter's tag.

You might think that but if celtic werent successful we wouldn't have half of our support imo maybe more, alot of folks might have choosen hibs instead. Hypothetical i know but with succes comes fame and thats true for celtic aswell. Btw theres plenty of fans who follow celtic for reasons far worse than glory huntin.

He was actually quoting me in calling them glory hunters. My point being ive seen more City tops in the last 2 weeks up and around the doors than i have in the last 20 years (minus the time when they become a fashion accessory when Oasis 1st hit the scene) so yeah where did these * come from if not to glory hunt?

City's gate sales and its widely known that Manchester has more City than United fan's but the point is with their new found success they've went from local supporters of a mediocre * team to international supporters of a decent team in the space of just over two years this is the definition of glory hunting *.

Well what makes them any more a glory hunter than the man united fans who supported their team when they were 5 because they seen them winning a trophy.

Man u are by far the worst for glory hunters. As the old joke goes, how do you confuse a man united fan? Show them a street map of manchester.

I know a guy that always supported Man City as his 2nd team to Celtic and then about 4 year ago he changed to Arsenal. I always think he must be * fuming :56: I mean supported too, he always went to a couple of games a season and bought their tops even though hes from Glasgow now he does it with Arsenal.

Imagine supporting Man City as your second team for like 20 years, then changing about 1 year before they start becoming good and end up going on to be the best team in England.

Much like the Chelsea fans that appeared after Abramovich took over all im saying is with success glory hunters apear doesnt matter who or where the club is based

And there is your prime example of a glory hunter changing your colours is the most scummy thing you can do as a football supporter you stick with your team and you see it through to the end.
