The football club is a business, and if we don't gain European qualification, someone's head needs to be put on the block.

Agreed. I'd be surprised if any of our players, despite how good they are, were sold for big money.

i don't think anyone came in with an offer anywhere near the deal Spartak finally did for McGeady.

looking towards the future may be selling Izaguirre and getting a decent replacement while going for a higher quality striker and keeper than that already at the club. i don't agree that Izaguirre will be valued the same next season. i think if he performs again like this season it'll increase slightly and if he under performs, it'll dramatically fall and no one will come in for him. he has three years left and we'd get a good price now.

the main thing with Izaguirre is that we are not actively looking to sell him. i would welcome him stay if he's here at the end of the window. however, if someone comes in with a figure around £10m, it'll be hard to turn down and i wouldn't blame the board for accepting it.

i have a sneaky suspicion that as Arsenal are selling Clichy, they may go in for Izaguirre.

I'm not sure who we'd sign to replace Izaguirre, if he were to go, but Lennon would be foolish not to have his scouts considering as much. It's down to him, at the end of the day. If he sees a player of a similar quality, I'd have no problem whatsoever with us selling.

I would sell him for 11 million, he's a class player for us but I'm sure with our scouting system we could uncover 3 or 4 gems with that money. This is the way we'll do buisness untill the premiership bubble bursts!

If we're selling him then he has to go ASAP so we have enough time to re-build and spend the money when he's gone. Wouldn't mind selling Izzy for £12m and getting that Hearts full back on the cheap, then going all out £5m each for a top striker and CB with the money. And obviously getting a GK too with our currents funds.

Listen he's a LB not a 25 goals a season striker, if we got anywhere near the amount being talked about then we would be crazy not to sell him. We could then not only buy a replacement like Lee Wallace but also fund bids for other players who would enhance our squad.

IMHO I reckon izzy will be sold as next season teams in epl will be capped and won't have the spending power also this home grown policy, this is why ferguson bought Ashley young and gave him a 5 yr contract. If epl teams were not getting capped them no way would young be signed by man utd..

Dont want to see Izzy go at all but if we wanted to sell him next season then £3m is probs the most we will get offered after the epl teams are capped.

That makes a lot of sense. If we sell Izzy for say £11M, we could get Lee Wallace in as his replacement, and have all that extra money to fund a goalkeeper and striker.

What's to say a team from abroad won't bid for him?

We need to keep our best players and be in the position to put out a strong team in Europe.
A good run in Europe will be enough to bring cash in.

Thought we would have had him and kayal signed up by now on longer deals if any side wants him would sell for around 11/13 million that type of cash we could not turn down for either player.

Can see him and kayal here at least 2 more years before moving on .

To be fair if a top team paid 11m or more we should except for a lb a good bit of business ,we could get a quality replacement for 4m and have funds towards a proper ch and striker..love izzi but sence provales.
