It seems there has been a lot of negativity for the wee man in the last two match threads, where I think he has played quite well. I don't think he has deserved the slagging some people have give him and no way has he been 'awful'

Some people have been saying we need a new LB and we need to get shot of him, is absolutely ridiculous. I was speaking to my dad about him today and he thinks he is the best football playing LB we have had since Tommy Gemmell.

Yes Izzy makes a few mistakes each game but that's because he constantly tries and plays it out, at no time will you see him try and hoof the ball out. He is the most composed player in our team on the ball. He's always calm.

For me he is very under rated as a defender, his pace is frightening at times and just when you think there player is in on goal he chases them down with ease.

He WILL have a great season this season. He'll get back to his best.

I think he has been good in the past two games. Not great, but certainly not bad. Made a massive contribution in the Elfsborg game with the cross for Commons also.

I don't think he's quite got back to the level he was at before his injury.

Game that sticks out for me was the 1-1 draw at Hamilton in his first season where the guy was absolutely incredible all game. He was involved with every attack and they just couldn't handle him.

He seems a wee bit slower and a bit more tentative on the ball to me now, but he's still a good player for us in my opinion.

He has been a bit slack at times but not awful.

Can't ever see him getting back to his first season form. He's been back from that injury for about a year and a half and still hasn't got near that level. As it stands, he is an average left back capable of the odd standout performance. Nothing more.

More chance of Izzy getting back to his 2010/11 season form than Kayal imo
He's done ok so far, looks sharp and had a good game against Elfsborg, more competition would be ideal though

I'm not sure what folk are expecting of him, he has been consistently good for a while. Not as potent an attacking weapon possibly but a lot of the time that is dictated by who is in front of him. If it's Commons or Sammy he is clearly told to hang back given both are extremely attacking players.

What he needs is competition/back up, when he is fit just now he plays and he knows it. That isn't healthy for anyone.

I think he's been pretty steady for a while now.

I can't think of too many defensive mistakes from him lately, and his runs into the opposition area are more measured now so he doesn't get too far ahead of the ball and leave the LB slot exposed.

The only problem i have with him is he takes far too many chances around our own box.

It doesn't usually result in anything negative though.

I'm quite happy to have players who are comfortable enough to play it out from the back.

Izaguirre's assist stat's are much better than I imagined.

    2010/11: 42 apps, 8 assists.
    2011/12: 14 apps, 2 assists.
    2012/13: 49 apps, 11 assists.
    2013/14: 4 apps, 1 assist.

    109 apps, 22 assists.

An assist just under every 5 games, brilliant.

    Pretty good for a defender.

Think of all the other goals we scored by him dragging a defender out of position to create space for others.

Intresting that last season has been his best season yet attacking wise yet he was being slated.

I think he's put in some of the best full back performances I've seen for Celtic. Even against strong opposition in Europe he is generally composed on the ball. He is liable to the odd mistake, particularly being out of position defensively, but more than makes up for it with his attacking abilities, composure and evidently his assists.

There were a few guys sitting near me at the game on Saturday moaning at him the full game. :39:

Might have been a but harsh on him before but he was a * disgrace tonight. Made about two tackles and * up everything else.

We badly need another left back, urgently.
