Petulant is pretty accurate TBF. He definitely has that in him.

I'm sure Ronny has handled it properly. Whether what he most needs is supportive words or a verbal kick up the *, only he and Ronny know.

    Agreed.
It's annoying cus he was solid all game up till that stamp on El Ghazi's foot. All happened quite quick after that I don't think Ronnie can take any stick for not subbing him as he was really good all night up to that point.
    Live and learn Izzy! :shamrock:

Looked to me like he was too eager to show his commitment to the cause after being dropped.

Resulting in him being far too rash numerous times.

Emilio Izaguirre on his red card

‘I am very disappointed with my red card,’

‘I need to take responsibility for the dropped points.

‘It was a big game and we needed to keep 11 men on the field.

‘They accepted my apology and were fine with it because it happens and now I need to be focused and 100 per cent for the next games.’

It's his being over committed/rash that makes him a weak defender for me. He dives into tackles in our defensive third that he has no right to win and so many times wingers get in behind him. Sometimes his passing can be reckless as well.

One thing I really like about Lustig and all our other defenders should take note of it, is that when he's under any sort of pressure and there's no pass available, 9/10 he clips it into space and at the very least turns the opposition around and buys us a few seconds. He's no nonsense. I'm all for trying to play out from the back but there is a time and a place and some times our game management can be poor.

Needs a gauntlet run this morning in training.

Thought he was excellent though last night, rash play but to get sent off.

And IMHO, he's the best we're gonna get for a while, so need to just live with that if you ain't a fan. No chance is Blackett going to displace him, unless Ronny has a screw loose (may already have for signing him).

:smiley-laughing002: Trying to get sent off, ffs.

4 posts you made after the game, not one positive comment.

Why do you even bother following Celtic? You derive no joy from it at all.

Reminded me of when Mulgrew got sent off at Ibrox a few years ago. Everybody knew it was coming. Both Lennon, and Deila trusted each player to screw the head, and both were let down by the player's stupidity.

You can accept Deila's explanation fully considering how Blackett handled their right winger when Emilio went off i.e. he didn't.

Yep. I think we had more crosses from that side in the first five minutes after Izzy went off than we did in the 70 minutes previous.

Thought he was great till the stupid tackle for the red. Some of the abuse in the match thread are scandalous.

Yup, especially since people here are usually so level-headed and take the long view. Shocking, shocking that people here of all places would lash out like that. :54:
