Izzy isn't a better player than Tierney, not for me. One game (albeit outstanding), and KT isn't as good. Place is mental..

I will say though, KT needs genuine competition, and should be rotated more often when back. Far too much emphasis on a young boy covering as much as he does down the left wing..

For £600k odds and 6 years proper service. Fair play to the wee man.

I thought he did well tonight, and hopefully he has a decent run until KT is fit.

That's actually a very good point that I'd not thought of but... Tierney is still more solid because he doesn't tend to lose concentration. That's Izzy's problem.

It was like putting on a pair of old slippers having Izzy out there again tonight. Considering how long he's been out of the picture, I think he held up pretty well. I've seen him have worse games in Europe when he was a first team regular, put it that way.

Obviously it's * that KT is injured but I'm glad for Izzy that he's getting another run in the team. Just a few months ago he thought he had played his last game for Celtic so I am sure he is loving every minute of this.

Izzy gets up the park a lot calmer than KT.
I bet you any money Izzy works daily with KT, giving him pointers. KT giving Izzy pointers too. :50:

Don't know if I agree with that mate..

Tierney has a better delivery for me, and is composed with his cut back's. Also looks a better goal threat himself..

I certainly agree with the bottom bit..

Over the moon that he didn't leave us in the transfer window.
I think when he was a guaranteed starter, which he was for a good while, he let his performance dip a little.

It's fantastic having 2 proper left backs.

I don't disagree with any of that.

KT has a better delivery, better cutbacks and is a goal threat.

Izzy always was calm passing it out into midfield and moving into space, KT has improved that tenfold. I still think Izzy has that over him.

Played pretty well, as composed as an experienced international & European campaigner should be. Let down by a lack of quality in both final 'thirds' as usual. His defending when it really matters is suspect & his final ball going forward is suspect apart from that he was pretty decent. Same as always.

Some player for a back up, it has to be said.

Thought he had a fine game tonight. Delighted we kept him.

Yeah it's a weird one. Tierney is better defensively and is more dangerous in the oppositions final third...but Izzy is better getting from one box to the other.

    If that makes sense.:giggle1:

    Great game from Izzy tonight.
I never panicked when I heard KT was out injured cuz I have total confidence that Izzy can do a job for us.
Obviously KT will still be no.1, and rightly so, but Izzy will see this as his opportunity to reclaim the starting spot and by * he's grasping at it with both hands.
What more can you ask for?

Also agree with other posters that he should be rotated in a bit more when KT is fit again.
No point in KT playing 3 games in a week when we've got a reliable back up to come in and give him a rest.

Fantastic, I thought he was our MOTM.

At the start of the match he looked like the only guy that had a bit of composure about him and that started to spread a bit when he was actually taking his time and picking a pass.

Experienced, quality back-up. I'm delighted we managed to keep him this season, you just knew we'd need him at some point. He did a great job last night.

On a more sentimental note, it's nice to see a guy who has served Celtic so well getting in the team before he inevitably leaves at some point this season.

I thought his defending was excellent, some beey well times tackles and covered the centre backs quite often as well.

It's true then, different people see things Differently. I thought he was one of our best performers last night.

Played very well last night if he continues that type of performance KT wont just walk back into the team when he is fit. Chuffed for Izzy.
