Mon lashed out £12M for Emile Heskey. A good player dozen't become a bad player in four years. Heskey is a beast of a player, and probably would score a barrowload of goals in the SPL if used properly.

    NoTW, so probably pish.

BUT, if there was some truth in it and Villa are willing to throw a couple of million quid... well, I'd think about it, anyway. We need strikers, and for all his fault's Heskey is a better striker than what we have at the moment. A few million quid into the deal could then be directed at signing a Keane or a Bellamy.

Well done. I've noticed you like to take tiny points of peoples arguments and nit-pick at them.

Still doesn't change the fact that his overall contribution is terrible.

We're here to discuss Heskey, not each other. Let's keep to the topic at hand here.

Wrong. Liverpool paid 12m for him when he was 22 and you can become a bad player in ten years.

I knew someone had paid £12M for Heskey. And I didn't say ten years I said four. My point still stands.

If you read back I said he used to be decent and now he's *. He did used to be decent and now he is *. So your point here is that any has-been striker can come up here and bang them in? Just don't think thats true.

Heskey catches a lot of flak because he doesn't score goals for England. We aren't going to land a striker who does score regularly for England, are we?

I think Heskey would be a pretty good striker for Celtic. He has that physicality we've been lacking for years, he has plenty of experience playing at the highest level and will be a powerful threat from pieces. Since drawing comparisons with O'Neill's players is in vogue, think of someone in the John Hartson mould.

He's a has been because he's scored 20 league goals in his last 4 seasons. And I don't rate him as a decent striker. Was once, but not anymore.

The only way I would be happy with Heskey being in the Hoops is if he took a major major paycut, he isnt worth paying 40,000 or more a week.

He is still a decent striker Heskey. He has that physicality that would serve
him well in the SPL, and I reckon he would batter Davie Weir into submission. Fortune is poor in front of goal, and needs one or two touches on the ball, and worse still he couldn't hit a coo on the * with a banjo.
