Exactly, these managers think that Heskey is better than defoe, bent, agbonlahor (spelling), zamora, so he must be amazing right? No. Don't know how the * he ended up on that plane and neither does anyone else that watches football. He used to be decent and now he's *.

Emile Heskey is EXACTLY the type of player we need!!!

He's big, strong, proven goalscorer and would be a hero in the Hoops!!!

    YES PLEASE!

P.S preferably as a cash signing and NOT in a swap deal involving McGeady!

Most ridiculously over-rated player on earth.

Would want silly wages anyway, no go for me.

If we get £10M for McGeady I will be over the moon. To be honest although I rate Heskey, Big " Ben " Hutchinson would fulfill the same role and is much younger.

    Proven goalscorer???

Aye proven to score five goals in eighteen months at Villa, and fifteen goals total in the three seasons before that with Wigan.

Our once in a lifetime opportunity to sign a genuine five-a-season goalscorer.

On the plus side, after his shambolic showing at the World Cup finals, we could probably get him for a sack of potatoes.

But why do that, when we could simply play the sack of potatoes as a striker, and tell Heskey to GTF?

The only problem with that as far as I can see, is that Fortune is not clinical enough in front of goal and will not deliver enough goals I suspect for us to clinch the league. In saying all of that Rangers don't have Kris Boyd anymore, so it is a bit of an enigma.

Hutch is more direct than Fortune and was battering in goals right, left and centre for the reserves, so I would be inclined to blood Hutch in the first team and sell Fortune for about £3M.

    Certainly not.

Not only is he a pure excuse for a footballer, he would demand huge wages.

Hutchison is dire he is so slow for someone of his age and couldn't even score for Swindon but this is someone who should be starting week in week out for Celtic?

My thoughts exactly, except Fortune is younger, still has a bit of pace and some clever dribbling skills. Heskey hasnt scored in double digits since 2004-2005 and has scored 20 goals once in his career. Then again he has never played in the SPL so you never know, but I just cant see him going crazy next year and banging in 25 goals.

So what did Heskey bring to England and Villa this season? Because it wasn't goals or assists. The ball doesn't stick to him anymore and he is too slow to run anything down. Capello picked him beacause he was "the perfecr foil" for Rooney, didn't turn out to be true did it, even if Rooney had been on form, Heskey wasn't exactly creating the chances. Also his club manager barely plays him and, if this story has any truth, wants rid of him.

He had a good assist for Gerard at the WC.
