If you don't have the ability to discuss football sensibly like others then please refrain from personal abuse.

I thought it was quite a telling comparison myself.

I admit that a penalty-taking goalkeeper being more prolific doesn't tell us much about the goalie's striking skills.

But it does tell us a fair bit about Heskey's. :56:

Need to take into account appearances and penalties taken.

and there are also thousands of very average european players playing in europe too! so not a pointless stat as suggested.he doesnt score much goals! so why on earth would we want to bring him here when we are in dire need of a goalscorer? besides as mentioned this is only gossip and there is no point us getting in a twist over him! you think he is a good player ? fine no bother i dont! we will leave that there i think.

    Just discussion mate, no twist.

The point was that England is a better league than south American leagues and most players from those leagues look to leave for England or Spain. That's all.

I just think he gets bad press for goalscoring but his general play gets ignored. He's a good link/foil for a small striker

Not what we need. We are crying out for a proven goalscorer. I'd still go for Stokes, we know that he can find the net.

blood bolis every time i hear the word stokes mentioned ! you have a guy who has played all his days in the prem. not got the greatest goal scoring record but his overall play is great. ask any striker thats played with him. ask martin oniell who has signed him twice, houlier who payed £10m or so for him. steve bruce who signed him twice, sven goran, steve mclaren and fabio capello. all these managers cant be wrong can they?? but u want us to sign stokes instead who coudnt score anytime he has been upped a level. 3 goals for sunderland. 1 for crystal palace 0 for arsenal and 0 for sheff utd???? just dont make sence.
