Where does everyone get the merchandise? I know Braehead pretty well so im assuming its in the arena since there isn't a shop in the main bit?

 

You can only get merchandise on a match night, inside the arena. Apart from this little stall they are setting up tomorrow.

 

Do yous not have a website to buy stuff from?

Keith and Fitzgerald both banned for tonight Edinburgh are on a decent run of form as well so could have down without those suspensions! Keith deservedly banned but..

Dunno about Fitzy's ban length yet it's still under review.

 

That ban of Fitzgerald for the tussle he got into after the guy grabbed him in a * chokehold was ridiculous.

 

Was that against Cardiff?

 

EIHL DoPS is ridiculous. Last year Nickerson got nine games for punching a guy when he was on the floor. A ban is obviously warranted but it was a fight, 2 or 3 at most would have been fair. I think the reason we have so many DoPS imposed bans in the league, especially amongst the 4 Scottish clubs is the poor standard of refs.

Scottish refs in particular cannot control a game, they penalise non existent infringements but let players get away with quite blatant charging, roughing, crosschecking, boarding and slashing all game which obviously leads to tempers flaring and players feeling the need to protect their linemates and police the game themselves.

The best thing the league can do to protect players is find competent referees, and if that means nicking some from Scandinavia or Germany until our own referees are up to standard then so be it, even though European style refereeing might impact on the very north American style of hockey played here

 

To be fair Nickerson got away with one a few weeks ago against Braehead when he punched Fitzgerald in the face three times whilst Fitzgerald had no intention of fighting him. Fitzgerald then got banned for the exact same thing about a week later. Frank also got done for third man in despite the fact Fitzgerald clearly wasn't fighting and Frank just stepped in. I used to like Nickerson a bit, thought he was a bit of a character but now I just think he's a *. Isn't he on like a 7 game ban now for ploughing his way through the back of a Steeler when he had no idea Nickerson was coming?

Ah right yeah. I was just wondering how you got to see it cos Cardiff don't bother with their youtube channel. The one against the Steelers was hard to call to be fair.

 

Four officials on the ice and not one of them called two Braehead defenseman being tripped before Edinburgh's third goal. You were right Fifer, they really are a * shambles. Saying that though the game should have been long over before then just a * night all round.

I remember how it used to feel when Celtic lost now.

 

I'm glad I didn't bother going now. Judging from the feedback it was just a bad night at the office.

 

Went two nil up and thought that was job done. Had a five minute powerplay at 2-1 in which they should have piled a load of pressure on and tried to kill off the game, but they took it at training game pace. There was no urgency. Matt Keith was a big loss I think, but genuinely, the refereeing was an absolute * joke. It's not an excuse for losing because we should have won regardless, but the refs totally * us for their third goal and then gave some * penalties which put us a man down for the final 4 minutes so we had no chance really. Their fourth though was hideous, empty net and we try and play it across goal which gets intercepted The distribution out of the defense costs us a lot of goals.

Just watched the highlights from last night, i'd say the penalty calls at the end were fair but they had done the same thing three or four times throughout the game and only punished for one of them. Inconsistency is so frustrating. The third goal is a * joke though, Braehead's last man absolutely wiped out by a Caps player and the guy on the puck is just free to skate through one on one with Jonesy.

Two goals were all our own fault though. Meh.
