Elfsborg... and Bangura!

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by scootz, Jul 19, 2013.

  1. I've only seen a grainy clip of the incident, but Kelvin was doing something pretty * weird with his arm and it looked like it should have been called a foul.

That said, the lino was looking right at it from a few yards away and never called anything, so perhaps there was no contact. I can't see enough from the clip.

No excuse though for Bangura going down like he's just been clouted by Big George Foreman!

He took the lightest slap as Wilson's arm was swinging back as he was running.

No I wasn't sitting right in front of it but I've had the benefit of seeing it numerous times since then, he doesn't elbow him.

He got tapped lighter than Dida.

  3. I know what you are saying mate but it was right after the challenge Wilson gave him a sneaky elbow in the face. At first when challenging was like you said he just gave him a light slap it was after that, the linesman never seen it and I dont know if the tv would have either as I didnt see the match on TV obviously as I was there. It was just a split second mate the guy next to me missed it too as he looked away quickly but my girlfriend was with me and she seen it too. You wouldnt have seen it from any other angle. I also seen wilson looking around after he done it, he knew what he had done. Thats all I wanted to say. Just thought alot of people were being unfair to Mo on here.

  4. Go on youtube and watch it mate u see it clearly its no elbow

  5. blatant elbow

  6. First I thought it was a 100% dive but on that replay you can see that the 2 swing made contact. I don't get what the * Wilson was doing ?

  7. No where near an elbow . Hes got a straight arm behind him a bit hard to knock a man down with yer arm like that . Aw wait he never knocked him down bangura waited a few seconds then slowly fell to the ground holding his face , aye right nae bother hen deserved an elbow when he got up for going down like that

  8. Aye there is contact no denying it but its about two fingers that catch him no reason to go down in my book

  9. Honestly mate I was sitting right on front of them literally front row perfect view. He did elbow him in the face pretty hard one too, honest on my life. I wouldnt say that if he didnt. The video is grainy, you would need an HD shot and to zoom right in but as I was saying its not the original challenge it was just after it, I swear to * it was an elbow. I can understand what you are saying it looks on th video like his arm is extended when he makes contact but I was literally couple of metres away so I seen it all. I was disgusted with Wilson after that! There was no need whatsoever and hes lucky he never got seen properly by the linesman as he was looking away. Stupidity from Wilson and the game could have been pivotal at that point. It was a good blow to the face really, cant blame him for going down, but he got back up and carried on without a grudge or without contesting to the ref that Wilson fouled him and that shows he is a guy with a bit of dignity. Wasnt ever going to be an easy night for him and personally I think he coped with it well and played well. Didnt let any of the mind games get to him.

  10. JasonMcG, seriously, why would I make it up?? Im a huge fan and love Celtic with all my heart. If you were right there next to me and seen it and then disagreed then I would understand but that video is terrible quality andtoo jumpy with the frames to make it out properly. It was a heavy blow as Mo was running onto it with a bit of momentum. Any of the Celtic players would have went down the same if they had been hit like that. I totally see what your saying it doesnt really look like bad contact on TV or from wherever you were sitting and him simulating is a Joke. I hate the simulation in modern day foot ball its what lets the game down but so does fouling players like this. Especially when they are celtic players on loan to another team. Yeah he shouldnt have played but Elfsborg were paying his wages and told him to play. He doesnt pick the team. Hes a proffesional player and isnt going to refuse to play and jeopardise his season on loan over there and be frozen out for the rest of the season by Celtic and Elfsborg. Poor lad had no choice. The dogs abuse given to him was a disgrace! But hey ho thats life. He would have expected it and I think he handled it well. Fair play to him, and hes looking alot better than he was when he last played for us. He was just lacking confidence. I think hes got alot more to come yet. Wait and see what happens, it may not be at Celtic but he is a quality player. John parks not daft they obviously seen something in the lad!

  11. Still not enough to make him hit the ground linesman didn't see * all wrong

  12. with all the conspiracy theories etc... if there was any issues with Wilson then we would all know about it, the incident happened right in the face of the linesman if there was anything in it, Wilson would have been off

  13. if the elbow did catch him it was on the right side...

so why at the end of the of the 30 second clip is he holding the left side of his face/ head ? ( he went down clutching both sides of his face )

also , at 12 secs it looks like the ref gives him a kick with his boot ..:smiley-laughing002: could just be the angle

  14. A never says u made it up lol just did nae look as bad as he made out to me if it was that bad he should have got up and said something about it not as if he is a stranger to our players he got up n played on

  15. Don't think it's safe for him to go back to Glasgow. He has no future with us no matter how good he is.

Best player out the 2 teams over the 2 legs for me

I think people are making last week's performance to be something it wasn't. And still, he showed the same awful finishing which is the reason he didn't make it with us. In any case the comment is less about his quality and more about his attitude.

  17. What was he like tonight?

Bangura was playing for Elfsborg not Celtic and that is down to Celtic, he had a duty to do for Elfsborg, I did not notice any cheating but that could be down to the drams, if he did cheat then he has no place in any club imo. If he did not, then he was doing what he is paid to do, it just so happens that Celtic chose to pay half his wages for a club they would play against. That is Celtics fault not Banguras....he still looks like a * clown though.
