(On Efrain Juarez) "He needed to go back and sort out his visa. Hopefully we can get him back as quickly as possible. Hopefully he'll join us next week. We've been watching him, even before the World Cup, we were aware of him. We watched him in a couple of friendlies before the World Cup and he obviously did very well in the World Cup. He was very impressive. I like his style of play. I think he'll fit the style of Scotland and I think he'll be a good asset for us to have. We needed to get the balance better in the midfield area and I think he'll increase the quality of that."

    yep
if they made up their mind to buy him when they saw him in the national squad most likely, he will use him in the midfield, thtas where he had his best performance.

    No way!!!!

As I have mentioned we are a football school, if we buy players how on earth would we give opportunity to the youngsters? Makes no sense!!

Our phylosophy is simple, "all mexicans should be from our inferior divisions, and AT MOST 3 foreigners with proven quality to help in the formation of the youngsters".

That's why we are a big team without winning many championships, we are a "University", so that's why watching Juárez getting to Celtic is like "graduation"..... that's the best for us! That is why we are so happy and excited :)

Championships is not our priority, forming young mexican talents is the priority.

I know what you mean. That's why I mostly watch second division games, that's the real Pumas... the others are "Tuca's friends"... being a Puma is more than "wearing the shirt"....

Palencia can score all the goals in the world, win 10000 championships .... he will never be a Puma....

But as you said, that's just me :50:

this is one of the few times i've disagreed with jalex here in the forum ..
it is true that a big priority of the team is to create players but we cant say we dont care about wining championships, * i was sure happy when we won twice in a row in 2004 and i sure was happy when we got the championship again last year, probably the happiest moments of my life :icon_mrgreen: its good that we sell players it makes us proud but i think we should have sold a few more maybe foreign strikers and have signed atleast one quality player .

theres plenty of young players mate luis fuentes can replace juarez and oscar rojas can replace barrera but.... i insist one quality signing wouldnt have hurt in my opinion,

    Youngsters....

A few years ago Barrera and Juárez were in the exact same position, one "good player" left and they got their chance. So they were called to replace them... and see where are they now....

It's a never ending cycle in Pumas, that's how we work, that's why we produce so many players and that's why wer are big and important in Mexico :50:

Sure... sorry... hehehehe you know I love Pumas... get passionate .... thanks!!! :icon_mrgreen:

yeah i think both you guys have said you dont like America or Chivas or whoever,so what i didnt get is why jalex is happy for them to win the title as long as you are playing academy players because whats the point in a rivalry if you dont want to beat the others lol

so do you think they should buy replacements?

oh and are bermudez and pacheco good in real life out of interest?

yeah i know it will be youngsters but are they as good as the outgoing player or even have the potential as them?

cause if not then it will make the team worse

Historically academy players always have beaten America. In fact part o f the rivalry is that, Pumas a team with an age average of 20-24 years homemade players that kick America's as* with their fancy and expensive players.

BTW... Chivas is not our rival... that's new.... it is only America.

Fabenzo hasn't mentioned that, but since the academy has been just left aside, America has taken control of our rivalry for the last... 10 years??? :54:

We are willing to take those chances. That's the phylsophy... we got the nickname "the team who bets for the youngsters", "the kids team".... that's not achieved by "playing it safe" you have to take your chances and let them get mature enough to tell if they are good enough.

The cool thing is that we have tons of people waiting, so if one doesn't make the most of his chance, there is always another waiting!!!! :50:

they sure have potential but only time will tell if they will be as good the only thing i disagree is that you can not only depend on the youngsters the team is already based on players formed in the academy having two or three quality foreigners in the team is a good idea to me. and they should have bought at least one and sell one . and as long as they dont come just to steal money like oftens happens to america and other teams in mexico.

fair enough mate, its hard for celtic to do that sort of thing cause if you dont beat rangers the manager gets sacked lol, and there are expectation for european football aswell so we have to sign players
