Funny thing is I think McGregors had nothing but abuse for the last 3 months or so :56:

McGeady was a really good player though, of course he wasn't going to get the criticism that Ambrose gets. But when someone like McGregor plays as * as he consistently has it isn't "imposter" and "not fit to wear the jersey" thrown at them. If the choice was McGregor or Ambrose, I'd keep Ambrose every time. Don't agree at all with the idea that he's our worst player, and it's beyond a joke that seem people actually say "worst ever". In this current squad alone, there are a number of worse players.

Aye but McGeady got some amount of abuse on the pitch, done my * in. Local boys always get harshly judged.

Ambrose is the worst defensive player we have without a doubt. Denayer and Oconnnel should be ahead of him in the pecking order after the maspalomas tournament.

He's better defensively than Scepovic :icon_mrgreen:

Honestly, from what I've seen of Wakaso Mubarak he's better defensively than Effe and would probably make a much better full back than Effe anaw.

Has anyone that makes that statement ever seen O'Connell play ?

Ambrose is on another level. Be a few years before O'Connell is good enough to play regularly for us, if he even makes it here.

I've saw O'Connell play. He does the basics better than Ambrose.

Positionally and covering Ambrose is much better.

Hopefully they don't use forum as reference to how good he is.

Best defender ever if QPR or Leicester are reading this. :smiley-laughing002:

There's no hope in * O'Connell is better than Ambrose :smiley-laughing002: Maybe one day (even that I doubt), but right now it's not even close.

I seen him when he came on in the cup game vs hearts last September at parkhead, think it was for the last half hour or so but he looked comfy on the ball and defended well

Normally I wouldn't want to see us lose a player at this critical juncture in the season when we are still competing in four tournaments, but in this case I would make an exception, and say take the money and run :smiley-laughing002:

It really has been a masterstroke of Ronny's to keep Ambrose in the team and by virtue the shopping window, but at a steep price, but if we got £3 Million for Efe, we could go out and buy a really good centre back. That really would be a good bit of business if it comes off.
