    Possible explanations

    1. VVD is being punted. Selling Ambrose leaves only Mulgrew as a CB once Denayer goes.

    2. Millionaire Lawwell is expecting a bigger bid.

    3. Lawwell sees him as too big a playing asset to sell.

    4. Ronny said no (doubt it, never plays when VVD/Denayer are fit)

    That's the way I see it. Something isn't right here, I don't see any possible way PL would turn down £3m for Ambrose unless it's been agreed than Virgil will leave in this window.

    Our transfer dealings really leave me scratching my head at times. Ambrose is a player in decline and we should've jumped at the chance to get £3m for him.
