wilson and ambrose are fine in the spl but if we want to get further in the champions league i think we need better quality centre halfs in but its all about opinions .

Gutted by Lennon's selection of Ambrose. I wouldn't have played him if he landed the previous day before the game, never mind a few hours before kick-off!

Awful both up front and at the back, by far his worst game for Celtic.

That said, looking from manager's point of view it did make sense to play him - him and Wilson have formed a good partnership, he's coming back from a high of winning ACN, already gave some great performances in CL and is better than Rogne and Mulgrew.

Of course fatigue contributed to his play, but it was a risk that could've potentially worked very well. Lennon's mistake, he took a chance, it didn't work, tough luck. His performances in CL are one of things that made it possible to play Juve in last 16, I'd rather he made mistake(s) now rather than vs HJK, Helsingborg or group stages.

It was sheer stupidity and lack of concentration, third goal was his usual dribbling in defensive third and now it got exploited easily.

Dont know where tiredness really comes into this. The first goal came in 3 minutes. The guy was buzzing after winning the ACN and had to be really up for a CL quarter final. He just made mistakes which suggest either he just had a bad night or he just isnt good enough.

Ambrose makes those mistakes when he's fully fit too. He just gets away with it in the SPL is all

Wilson was excellent last night and is one of our more important players, which I can't believe i'm saying after his start last season. Hopefully i'm saying the same thing about ambrose next season.

I thought when he started he was a bit of a bombscare but he settled down and started have good consistant performances, he also showed this in the AFCON. But the fact he played in the Final couple of days before the CL match should have been enough for Lenny to realise not to start him. I would have understood maybe giving him a half but a whole game? Maybe the fact Lustig went off injured made it harder for Lenny to sub him as would have changed half of the defence and left him with one sub.

I like Ambrose, but he made some really poor decisions last night and that's cost us. I didn't talk to many people before the game who were demanding he didn't start because of his playing in Africa, maybe some concerns about his schedule beforehand but not to the extent of the complaining i've heard after the result.

In hindsight, I think if he obviously wasn't up to it then we had other options so we shouldnt have been rushing him back, but if he felt he was ready for it and lennon agreed, if it doesnt come off then obviously people will be raging that its the wrong decision. These things happen.

Overall I thought Celtic were actually very good and even though they were pretty clinical with regards to our mistakes, the scoreline flatters juve a bit, but that's fitba.

I'm going to go against the grain because I don't think his mistakes were down to fatigue. He was caught out for the first goal and tried to dribble out of defence for another. He cost us with his mistakes and I feel sorry for him because he's played well at CB for us numerous times.

It was a different level last night though and although he has played well at CB, I'm not sure he is the answer beside Wilson. In fact, I think Ambrose makes a better midfielder and that's not the first time I've said that, he's proved it to us in the past. I felt sorry for him last night.

Ambrose wont cut it as a Celtic player - how many more mistakes is he going to make. The guy is 3 seconds behind everybody else, he cant anticipate were the next ball goes...he's been caught umpteen times and it's clearly not getting through...he's the new Oliver Tebily II ...what is it with us and bombscare defenders we got rid of Mistakeovic and signed this guy.some folk are blaming wilson for the 1st goal as well ??? - Having seen Gershon on saturday he's far better than ambrose and he would have buried that header.

Tell you one thing, and I've noticed this whilst watching him play in South Africa, the boy needs to work on his heading. He can't get his headers on target and it's * annoying.

I would take Rogne over Ambrose anyday. Ambrose is far too casual on the ball and not good enough in the air.

We have Wilson though, who is pacy and can also defend better than Ambrose can.

Rogne does the dirty work quite nicely. I would have preferred him in there over Efe last night, in all honesty.

I'm sorry but a year ago people were calling for Wilson to be sold, and very few rated Lustig. He's been here about 6 months and is probably still adjusting.

Are some of us not being a bit harsh on Efe. He's had a horror show it happens against barca both games he was excellent so in now way he has become a bad defender.

Should not have been thrown in after coming back. However, as someone previously mentioned, his mistake for the first goal surely cannot be down to "fatigue" as it was only 2 and a half mins into the game. He just was not concentrating whatsoever.

His mistake for the 3rd goal also was unbelievable. Trying to dribble out of defence when we are already losing by 2 goals, knowing that a 3rd goal would almost certainly kill the tie. Don't know what was going through his head.

For me, the jury is still out on him. I felt the same way even before last night so it has nothing to do with him only having "one bad game". Although, that last night cannot simply be described as a bad game, it was a * horror show:smiley-laughing002:. He does not fill me with confidence at all, far too casual on the ball, not strong enough and pish in the air. Does not really even seem like he is made for playing at centre half either. I hope to * last nights performance is the worst we ever see from him.
