    Mulgrew and Virgil.

Virgil is far better than Ambrose.

Disagree totally. Mouyokolo and Van Dijk weren't the problems tonight.
And people have very short memories on here, Ambrose is absolute fucken *.

From tonight's viewing and the limited amount of time Virgil had in pre-season, he has shown me more than Ambrose ever has in terms of ability. He wins more in the air, is stronger and looks far more relaxed with the ball at his feet.

I feel nervous whenever Ambrose has possession, the same can't be said for van Dijk.

van dijk started well, by the end he was being run ragged, I don't know if that was lack of fitness or what.

It's the people who say he is * that have the short memories. One half of the CB pairing who took us into the last 16 last season. Remember that?

Are Karagandy a better team than Elfsborg? Nope. Who did we concede twice against?

Ambrose makes mistakes, but I was 10x more comfortable watching the Elfsborg game with him in the team than the shambles at the back tonight

I hope you're right, and I'm not singling out van dijk, but against a completely one-dimensional team, our defence was all over the place.

By far the most uncomfortable I personally have felt with our defence for a long time

Not that I'm recommending it but if you watched the first half again and payed attention to van Dijk you'll see he played great, he was vocal, strong and composed.

Just unfortunate that he and the rest of the team went * up in the second half.

Ambrose is rotten. Just because an ex bench player from hull isn't much better does not make Ambrose any better.

There were plenty of people to blame but not Mouyokolo and Van * IMO.
Blame Lennon for selecting the wrong team and tactics, late substitutions again, and sticking by untrustworthy favorites. Blame Forster for not coming for that first goal. Blame Izzy for losing possession for the second goal. Blame Forrest for missing a sitter. Blame Lustig for a bad show at right back. Blame Sammy for drifting out to the left all the time and leaving us with no striker on the field. But don't blame Van * and Mouyokolo, they did no wrong.

We conceded two goals....against a team 3rd in there league...they are the 2 CBs...there job is to stop goals...how can you not blame them? They were getting absolutely bullied by that Striker. Aye there were others that were * dire, the whole team was bar commons but to completely right off any blame to van dijk and mouyokolo is utterly laughable.

I think you overstating the blame on Virgil and Moyokolo, who I can find no wrong in, and completely laughable too.
How can you blame them when Shakter throw a Rory Delap throw in and that fucken diddy Forster stays rooted to his line like the Eiffel Tower and fails to come out for it ?
How can you blame them when Izzyguire gives away possession for the second goal in a dangerous position, and get can't back in time to correct his original faux pas ?

I might be, it's raw just now and it hurts. I think your understating there blame. As I said 10 players were dire tonight in green and white, including the 2 CBs

He played quite well, didn't look nearly as much of a bombscare as he has previously. He will be a good back up if cuts out the crap and learns to just get rid of the ball. He's way too hesitant at times.

I have always rated Ambrose and defended him to the hilt on here.

What surprised me in the last fortnight was how supporters went instantly from "drop him, sell him, he's *" to "WHY WASN'T EFE PLAYING?????"

Either he's * or he isn't. I'm in the latter camp.
