Don't know what's wrong with this guys brain, just doesn't seem like he's got one...

People make mistakes every game or poor decisions but every time he makes a mistake it costs usually us a goal or a game and now he's doing it internationally..
Bombs up the park, can't be arsed to track back was near enough walking and they score and put Nigeria out,it's just typical of him...
A few decent passes and runs and then he'll go and put the ball out the ground when it's nicely tee'd up for a cross, stupid fouls he was conceding aswell...

I've been patient hoping for a change as there's something there but my patience is running thin, pre season and our qualifiers just around the corner,* knows what frame of mind he's gonna be coming back to us in!

He's made the 3rd most passes in the tournament and is the 25th most accurate passer with 85% success. Although 9 of the more accurate passers have barely played, so he's probably the 16th most accurate. Half of the 16 are centre-backs too.

The Castrol Index rates him as 24th best player, joint with Pirlo

Facts for me are sometimes false in terms of stats and percentages,I watched him tonight and plenty other times and he's been poor but his stats for passing 5 yards back and forth to centre backs and goalkeeper etc were probably good so it doesn't always tell the true story is what I'm saying really...

Stats can only paper over the cracks for so long, and this guys been digging for far too long now that there's barely a surface left

Somehow above Honda and Kagawa who were both brilliant last night. A player from Tahiti is also 11th in that list *:56:

He passes most often sideways and forwards, most of his passes have been to Mikel, Musa and Ogude two midfielders and wingers. He also created chances in both games with passes into the box.

I agree with you though, although the Castrol index has rated his perfromances high, think they take everyhing into account, forward passes, chances created, tackles made, crosses made, fouls commited, fouls suffered, positioning, distance covered etc

Only seen the first half an hour of the game last night so can't really comment on how he played. However, his two mistakes the other night just sum him up at present unfortunately. He was definitely at fault for the Tahiti goal and would have been at fault for another had the ball been half a yard the other side of the post. I liked Efe for the majority of last season, but after his horror showing against Juve, mistakes have been all too common since then in my opinon.

I think we seen it nearing the end of last season that Lennon had lost confidence in him, and the signing of Van Dijk has all but numbered his time as a central defender for us I think. And with Matthews and Lustig most certainly ahead of him at right back, I don't see where he fits into this team now.

If we can get a bid of around the £5million mark then I would accept.

Aye that's what I was thinking. Lennons either gonnae try n punt him (which he could get decent money due to his performance in the ANC tournament last season) imo

Or he's gonna shift him up to wanyamas position. Think kyal would start over him though, maybe use ambrose as a backup or routating player.

Hope we get some more interesting signings this season. Bit gutted gershon left. Thought he had potential.

It was rumoured that Besiktas were interested and going to bid £4million.

About as meaningful as me telling you now that Lennon is going to play him upfront next season.

Which I understand, but it was a rumour. He was also linked with Liverpool & Swansea. His performances at the ACN would have brought on some of the rumours, where he had a fantastic tournament. You are basing his price on 3 months of football. Where he looked anything but a 4 or 5million pound player. But up until then, that was a fair valuation in my opinon.

And you are entitled to it, but he has never looked a £5 million player. I never rated him highly but it is just a case of people exagerrating his worth off of a couple of months of good perfomances and then hounding him out when he goes through a bad patch. Look at what they tried with Sammy. Look at the Van Dijk thread, the lad hasn't even signed yet and he is the new saviour. You'd expect £5 million to buy you some sort of consistency, not really what I associate with Ambrose.

Ambrose's performances in the build up to the ACN and then at the ACN, were ones of a £4-5million player I think. He had a few really good performances in the Champions League during that period also. I agree that the stick he took was well over the top, he started being used as a scapegoat. I've said this numerous times, I actually think the blame lies with Lennon for his downfall.

I've seen it all too often with players that are not cracked up to what they are meant to be, and it may turn out the same with Van Dijk. So anyone ranting and raving about him before seeing him, is doing so prematurely. The press he has received has been fanatstic, from former players and current managers, but until I see him, I wouldn't pass judgement. He may well turn out to be the new saviour, who knows.
