He has the same problems as David Luiz really, thats what he basically is a poor mans Luiz. He has good skill and can play football but if your playing in defence and try to play football then your * as any mistake could be costly and as he has made a couple of mistakes and fans turned on him then hes under scrutiny for further mistakes which has put him on a "shoogly peg" as the press would say as a centre-half.

For me a top class defender would have had the professionalism, determination and concentration to ensure Tahiti didn't even get a sniff tonight.

He's certainly not a right back, that's for sure.

I wouldn't mind seeing him getting a run in midfield actually.

Don't like seeing him at the back, he's a bombscare. Juventus & Spartak still bring me out in a cold sweat!

Who is that against though? Raith Rovers?

I didn't see the game tonight but heard he had a mare.:56: Don't trust the guy at the back at all anymore and don't think we should sacrifice one of our centre mids in order to accomodate him in there.

This, for me. I've always said he'd make a cracking box-to-box mid. He hasn't got enough focus or marking ability to be a defensive-mid (never mind a centre-back, where his lack of aerial ability lets him down further), and his final ball isn't consistently good enough for him to play attacking-mid or on the wing. However, he's a right jack-of-all-trades, is very fit, and is quick enough. Those are good attributes for a box-to-box utility-man CM. He'd fit in a 4-3-3 like a glove, in front of the defensive-mid, as ILoveTheCeltic demonstrated.

If (or more likely when) Wanyama goes, I wouldn't mind playing Kayal as Vic's immediate* replacement, and using Ambrose the way we use Kayal just now; as a general-purpose back-up centre-mid.

*I'd invest some of the Wanyama money in a young defensive-mid to eventually permanently replace Vic.

I wouldn't have him at centre mid just because of his passing, he likes to stride forward then pass it back the way constantly. One of his most annoying habits for me.

I think for us his best performances have came in central defence by far. He lost his way after AFCON and the Juve games last year but I reckon he'll have a good season next year; having had a year to settle in to a new league.

Similar to Ramires, who started out as a right back.

Is that because that's his natural game or because he's being told to do that though?

I think it's his natural game, he seems to do it no matter where he plays.

@Celtic_Ar: Parkhead defender Efe Ambrose, meanwhile, is a £4million target for Besiktas #Celtic

I said before I think he'll go,player in there just can't be trusted and Lenny doesn't trust him either seeing as he was on the bench a lot towards the end of season!

Think it's best for us and for his career as its gone drastically downhill since the juve 1st leg and a catalyst of mistakes there after means unfortunately for him he'll never live it down here...

Also with new defenders looking likely to come in,means there won't really be a place for him,4 mill would be a good deal if true

I would press for a bit more if Besiktas are really after him and put a concrete bid in. If we could get between £5-6million for him then it's a no brainer in my opinion. That would be a nice little profit for a player that doesn't appear to have recovered since his horror show against Juventus. It's a shame because he looked a good player, and I actually blame Lennon for his downfall, because he should not have selected him that night against Juve.

I actually like Ambrose but if the offer goes anywhere near £5million we simply must sell. That would be like making a profit on Efe and effectively getting Balde for free.

This. I don't mind him at all, he is good back up for me and can play 3 positions well enough. But in all honesty anything near £5 million should be snapped up. Was it £1.5m he cost ? I'd probably be delighted with £3m.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
There would be a little trickle of * at this end if we got 4 million for him......has his good moments, but for me he will always be played as a CB and is an accident waiting to happen far too often when he plays there.

He's not going to get the nod ahead of Matthews or Lustig at RB, and a game against Raith Rovers is not enough to convince me that a handsome profit on the guy is not the route forward instead of seeing him as some future midfield oracle.

£4-5m would be ideal. Invest it back into the side. Doubt it though.
