Absolutely crushing my older brother numerous times on a 2002 WC game. He always picked England and I always picked the team with the best player. Larsson was the best player on the game. He would get like 5-6 goals a game, and very quickly became my favorite player.

I played striker and grew out my hair in high school, thinking about dread locking it, but never did. Just kept it long.:56:

It was really hard to get games though, so whenever they'd be on ESPN for the Champ's League I would go nuts and it would make my year.

First actual game i remember going to at CP was the 2-0 win over Real Madrid in 1980, which was quite late in life really, even though i'd been supporting the bhoys for a few months by then. Bear in mind that I started life as an Airdrie supporter, for my sins, before seeing the light.

    Long story.

Probably the St.Paddy's game in 91 would be my first vague memories. I also remember us missing a penalty against a Xanax in Europe that year cause the game was on TV during the day time. Didn't start really caring until 92 though. i remember the semi final that year where McCoist scored just before half time. I was crying all night like a wee jessie. First game I really remember going to vividly was the Cologne game in 93. 3-0 John Collins played a blinder and he was my hero from then on. Stood in the north side of the east stand where I would later get my season ticket.

One satuarday I follow the green and white scarfs across alexander Parade, Duke Street, the Gallowgate and up Janefield St, and I am there outside the jungle. Before I can take it all in I am pushed and pulled to the tunstile then lifted over, inside I walk up the slopes and then I am lifted to head height and passed down to the front with all the other boys.
Even today I can still feel the fear, the buzz and adrenalin pumping inside me from that day. Its 1948 I was 5 years old and seems like it was yesterday.
I think they were playing Third Lanark, some of the players I remember, Bailley, john Mc phail, Boden, Hogg, Mallen, W Miller. Have seen almost every celtic game ever since.
Got back home don't know how. I have been to see celtic. In to your room you dare tell lie's.Whack, whack, whack, am a beaten carpet again, in to bed, no dinner.
Next morning one of my brothers after reading the paper and listening to me go on about what I saw, anounces that I must have been in Celtic park, how else would I know so much.
In to the room right now. Whack, Whack, Whack. That is for going so far away. Bed, no breakfast.
It was worth every missed bite of food that weekend and many more after.

Aye, KennyDal, the section B. I was really young but thae shower a foggin wangers were what eventually really put me off. I was surrounded by Celtic in the family and 2 of ma uncles had been on Airdrie's books and you'll never meet 2 guys so anti-Diamonds as them. My parents had encouraged us to support Airdrie cos of all the bigitry and stuff and thought AFC was a safer bet. The older I got and understood all the sectarian stuff, that was me off them, which was a pity, cos I liked the idea of supporting my local team. I'd always quite liked Celtic, but finally hating the Diamonds was a kind of let down for a nce wee kid like me. Bunch a huns but. Fuqqem.

Still like to see them do kinda well, but only because of the early childhood memories. I remember seeing the bassas beat Celtic at old Broomfield on penalties in a league cup match when Cascarino was wi Celtic and the twats set about a bunch of old men wi their grandweans behind the goal. Wee asreholes, big and brave. Made me glad to have nothing to do with them, but * me off cos the shitebags could gloat.

Much nicer being a Tim. All the memories are ncer, even the bad ones. I remember that Johnny Doyle goal against Real Madrid too. I don't think that was actually my first game at CP now that I think about it. I was at a league game or 2 before that, but the Real Madrid European match had such an impact it stuck in my mind far more than owt else.

I was at the league clincher against Dundee that season....and got there late......and got ushered in for free wi a mate. Never seen CP so full, people sitting on the track and in the aisles of the stand which was where we were too. (I'm sure the old board had the attendance as 37,296 or something like that.) . Great day. I headed off to Spain that very summer in the days before the internet. What a great sendoff it felt like.

First time I can really remember anything Celtic was when we won the league at Love Street in 86, and Hearts lost to Dundee. I dont think anyone actually expected us to win the league that day so much so that my dad (celtic daft) only turned the radio in the car on in the second half when we were 5-0 up and they were 0-1 down....He went mental and started screaming and everything, I was kinda scared but I knew he was happy. After the final whistle he started blasting the horn and roaring out the window in outside the Roman Bar in Camelon (hun pub). First game I was at was Celtic v Dundee Utd in 1987, centenary season. Cant remember the score but we won, Andy Walker scored and somebody burned me with a * by accident in the jungle.

Is that the one Andy Walker scored a couple and Chris Morris scored the 1st?
If so, you're a lucky man. Seen clips of it on tv before. Seemed unreal. I'd say there was 60 odd thousand. Closest i've got to that was St Johnstone '98

Taht's the very game, Sparky. The capacity was then officially 67,000, I think. I reckon there must've been 73,000 or so, maybe more, that day. It was so jam-packed it looked really quite dangerous.

Great day too. I only got in free cos ma mate was a trainee priest and the usher basically pushed us both through cos he was closing the gate.

Proved to be nearly a swansong that day though. My next year was spent with contact only through Spanish sports papers, that didn't always print the results.
