Since when was the size of a city any reflection the attendance at a football club
Both Partick Thiste and a Celtic are Glasgow clubs both attract vast differences in attendances . London has many times the population of Glasgow ,yet Celtic has a fair bigger attendance than QPR from London .

Nope, never, he's a liability for getting sent off and banned. Never mind the fact he kicked Brown on the head and Brown would probably snap him in their first training session.

You know it's time to exit the thread when you see Nadir Ciftci compared to Diego Costa.

Glasgow is mainly split between 2 teams, London has 3 big teams hugely supported not to mention that amount that will travel to Manchester, Dundee has 2 teams and historically Dundee has had a bigger support than United. Probably find more Celtic fans in Dundee than United fans.

He's a good player but he's an absolute *. No way would I want him acting like a * in the Hoops. It would be a big gamble to sign him.

I agree to an extent, but Ciftci takes it way too far. He has Elbowed someone in the face and stamped on Browns face only this season. Someone also said he has grabbed an official by the throat. Don't want any Celtic player doing that.

And where was the card Butcher received when HE kicked out at van Dijk? Oh yeh, that's right....he never * got one

Aye....was that good of a "dive" that Stokes made it seem as if Paton's leg wasn't there tripping him up :87:

Yes it was, and a 0-0 game became a win for Celtic from the resulting fk, it's just an example, you cannot get all high and mighty about a player diving and ignore past incidents of Celtic players doing the same

Not true, nearly everyone agrees Ciftci will be pulled up for his reaction to Brown's poor challenge that kicked it all off, and Butcher will probably get in trouble for reacting to VVD's childish "shove" of his boot onto Butcher's thigh which naturally caused Butcher to react

Also most think Dixon should have gone, although he was unlucky because as many here have said, it wasn't deliberate, stonewall pen but a red maybe harsh over a yellow?

    Paton though? lol

Now can we have a still of Butchers thigh after VVD "shoved" his boot down onto him

Butcher showed the ref the bruising/mark right after it, was visible clear as day on the footage

Just for balance and not letting green and white hooped specs blind you all!

Celtic fans are in general irritated because when Boerrigter took a dive earlier this season he received a suspension and when Guidetti slipped at Tyncastle in the cup he was branded a cheat and a diver when other teams dive against Celtic little is made of it and they are not banned. That boy who dived at Tannadice should be banned as it could end up costing Celtic a semi final place.

For me and I know I'm biased I see where people are coming from saying Virgil stamped on him but for me when you look at his face during the incident I think he is generally just trying to stand up and Butcher lashes out and if he isn't retrospectively punished it would be a disgrace. Have no idea what was going on with Paton getting sent off unless it was something he said to the linesman that we didn't see on camera however probably just a case of mistaken identity.

As for Dixons red you can't argue with it the rules concerning that aspect of the game are plain and simple, he had to go hence why United arent appealing it.

Brown's would be quadrupled if he played for anyone else in the Premiership the way he did on Sunday, how he escaped without a booking is beyond belief to be honest, there were two definite bookable offenses committed by him (tackle on Ciftci from behind, tackle on Dow edge of box) aswell as another 5-6 fouls

He gets away with a lot more than your average player that is for sure, i don't expect you lot to agree, but it's the way it looks, sure he'd get away with even more if at Sevco (ha ha!) but that's besides the point

United are top dogs in the city when it comes to support, not Dundee and not Celtic (although there are loads no doubt)

United also have a bigger non dundonian support than Dundee, including a surprising number of Glaswegians
