Lol a few weeks ago everyone was like, "Yeh Gary Caldwell is the best, he should be the Captain!".

No one else to replace him with so he stays until TM decides whats best for the team..i will say that he needs to get his finger out and cut out the mistakes he can do much better but at the moment he is a liability bcos of himself only these are his mistakes alone. He knows this aswell..am sure he will be told its not good enuff!!

Drop him!!! Are some people * mental. Fair play, they are intitled to there opinion but come on use some sence!:31: Do people forget how good he was for the hoops last season. 2 games into the league and bang he has to be stripped of the captaincy and dropped out right. Frightening!!!

Caldwell has really only made a few mistakes, then gets totally slated for it, and the og was barely a mistake he had to do something. Why do some people on here always need a scapegoat?? First its Fortune, he bags 2, Donati still gets its tight considering he is like a new signing and its now on to Caldwell because of an error. Watch out Mogga you might be next!!

That just about sums up todays' threads.

Caldwell is having a bad patch. I could see sitting him out against Hibs or something... but sell him? get him to *? And do what? Go back to Mick as Captain with just 2 CBs + O'Dea and Thompson ?? :97:
    Get real.

Caldwell does occasionally go back to being no-nonsense.
We could say the same thing about most players when they're not playing in form.
McGeady has never learned how to shoot, cross, or pass.
Brown has never learned how to do anything than run around like a chicken with his head cut off or pass.
Samaras has never learned to pass, hold up the ball for a partner, or find anything resembling a first touch.
Skippy has never learned to stop moaning on and on for half the game or create a chance for himself.

It's not that I'm trying to slag players or bring people down. But everybody comes with their faults and positives. People around here would do well to lay off the faults a little bit when a player is having a rough time.
Even more relevant... no matter how much moaning we do, we're not the ones calling the shots. Mowbray is. I'm willing to put my trust in him and his judgment of Caldwell and go ahead from there.

Caldwell is actually generally still playing very well but is just making a bad blunder in each game. He was like that for a good few weeks about 18 months ago before he gave us a long run of excellence. He will get out of this patch soon. None of our other Cbs are in the same league of quality. There is NO CHANCE Mowbray will drop him. Right now the alternatives are far worse anyway.

OK so we drop Caldwell and bring in O'Dea and he makes a couple of mistakes will everyone jump on his back?

Look at O'Dea against Sunderland. Keiron Richardson took him to the cleaners and he completely lost Kenwyne Jones for the second goal. I know its only a friendly but what if he does this in the league?

I like O'Dea and I think thru time he'll b a great player for Celtic but my point is u cant just keep dropping guys everytime they make a mistake. Sometimes thats the last thing they need.

scapegoating has really become chronic in the last couple of season. I think the mindset of Celtic fans has changed for the worse in the last 2 years. Everything has to be perfect right now or else someone has to pay. Football is not like that. Many players have form fluxctuations and new players can take anything up to a year to settle. Its a long game and there should not be a huge steward's enquiry and call for heads every week. I think the problem is fans from the 90s onwards have increasingly grown up having played much less football than was the case before that (when it was all people did) and dont really understand the game so well. If they had a clue they wouldnt come out with a lot of the guff posted here.

OD is the most overhyped player at Celtic. He has a lot of flaws like not being great in the air, being a bit slow and generally not having dominance. However, his worst flaw I think is his positioning. When he playes, I think the defence looks all at sea. I think he is just an athletic and gutsy player who can pass well but his flaws are much greater than his plus points. However, due to emerald tinted specks many fans wear he is criticism proof and none of his mistakes are ever remembered. Its crazy that a fringe player like him gets more singing than Maloney or Brown. IMO, he has no chance of making it to first pick unless he goes out on loan and proves himself elsewhere.

I think you are being a bit hard on him there.

Anyway is caldwell still holding out for 19k a week? If thats the case i would sell him as he isnt worth that and i dont want to lose a player for free who i think we could get a couple of million for

Seriously what the * is your issue with McGeady. Every time i come on here you seem to be having a pop at him, and this thread isn't even anything to do with him!! Did he * on your door step or something? The boy is playing out of his skin at the moment. Are you just depressed that Naka has gone upset that the other * is never going to be good enough for our first team?
