    Have to say i agree with Diabhi's statement although i trust BR so we got to reserve judgement until he actually starts playing.

    BR obviously rates him highly. You mention Wolves, when BR was managing Liverpool, he wanted to take him there but Wolves said "No". He's now gone back for him at Forest, where he's highly regarded by many down here. BR is no mug and wouldn't bring in someone who wasn't going to add to the squad/team. Can see this boy being No1 well before season is out.

    It seems like another filler in Brendan's long term plan to be fair. He's getting in people like De Vries and Toure who he knows are quality and believes will make an instant impact here, without them being long term players for us. It just gives him time to get in and have a proper look about the market for January or next summer without taking any real gambles that could cost him his job.

    a gk- a defender - a midfileder - and a striker

    Looks like BR has his own man in every area on the pitch now

    * it I'm going to stick my neck on the line and say this guy will be class for us. It sounds as if Brendan has his mind made up on Gordon.

    In Rodgers we trust :shamrock:

    He may very well be a decent enough 'keeper, but that doesn't change the fact he's been playing at Championship level down south for five years and is 35 years old, does it?

    I just think we ought to be investing in a 'keeper who's younger and has the potential to do a job and be a future asset, such as Forster was.

    Why are people getting so hung up on the guy's age? Brendan wants him, he's wanted him at every club he's managed. That's good enough for me. Couple that with the fact he was Forest's POTY last season and you have me sold.

    Because his age is a factor? We currently have two goalkeepers, one who is 33 and one who is 35. I'd prefer we had a younger, up & coming player in that position to challenge Gordon.

    And Forest were pish last season. They finished 16th and their manager got canned in March.

    Where you gonna find an up and coming goalie that's guaranteed to put in solid performances and play the way Rodgers wants to right now? It's obvious Rodgers wants players in he knows will drop straight in and play the way he wants them too.

    We were rumoured to be interested in Scott Bain last season, good age & was in & around the Scotland set-up I'm sure. Looks pretty good whenever I've seen him but truthfully I don't think he would be an improvement on Gordon. If we were bringing someone in I would want him to be better than Gordon & ready to play. The problem might be we can't find a better GK than Gordon that fits that bill & therefore a 35 year old back-up might be all that we need for now. Until another Boruc or Forster comes along.

    I really don't think De Vries is here to play second fiddle to Gordon, Rodgers wants him for his distribution and being able to use him to start attacks. He will be number one when fit.

    35 isn't exactly old for a 'keeper. Rodgers was saying he is a very fit guy, so we could get 3 seasons out of him really. If we were to get a younger, up & coming 'keeper, there's every chance they'd only stick around for 3 years before moving to the EPL or elsewhere.

    Plus, much like Toure, I reckon Rodgers has signed this guy because he trusts him. It'll shore up the defence and give Rodgers and the scouting team more time to identify younger players.

    Surely to * there's at least a few goalkeepers who fit the bill on our clubs radar? If not, we need to ask what our scouting team has been doing all summer!

    The reaction to this signing has changed suddenly because we've actually bought him I see. Before he was signed and it was just a rumour;

    After he was officially signed;
