We need a quality keeper badly. I reckon this is Brendans blind spot, a bit like MON.

I agree he cant really be judged on last night as its almost impossible to keep that front 3 out, should have saved the free kick, apart from that you cant really knock him. We were systematically ripped apart at the back, those balls in from Messi are stuff of nightmares for defenders.

He'll do for now but we need better.

1 shot on target against Aberdeen - 1 goal
2 shots on target against Sevco - 1 goal.

    Disgraceful stats.

He's been utterly hopeless. He might have been good for Nottingham Forest but doesn't look like he has the mentality to play for a big club. Gordon would never have conceded 7, not a chance.

I'm worried Brendan is going to stick with this guy for the rest of the campaign as he'll look daft if he brings Gordon back.

Nah don't like the look of this * at all.

I was all for a new number 1, a challenge to CG.

But not replacing him with an older, inferior goalkeeper.

    Shot stopping = Poor
    Delivery = Poor

    ....Positioning? Shambolic.

He doesn't know where he should be , when to come out, doesn't really seem to command his box.

Gordon is a must between the sticks for ALL CL games now surely.
Playing the best team in the world with an * GK who looked like he didn't know what to do or didn't even want to be there isn't acceptable.

With CG in goals, I ain't his biggest fan, but I certainly feel that it wouldn't have been our heaviest defeat in Europe in our history. * Grim.

Those stats don't prove to be good reading, but you've got to look at the bigger picture. There was no clear cut howlers for any of those goals, certainly nothing worse than what Gordon has done recently.

The one thing I will say is that Gordon might have saved a couple of the goals that DDV conceded, whereas he would more than likely probably have done a howler as well, as that has been his form this season.

They're two completely different goalkeepers and I'll wait a few more games for DDV before I make a proper judgement.

Hopefully BR realizes he has made a mistake and is man enough to admit it and deal with it. Bring Gordon back in, cause de Vries isn't any better.:50:

Not been impressed with him at all and can't see him being the long term answer. A club of our size needs two quality keepers and an issue that may have to be addressed come the January window.

BR made a decision last night that a stopper, CG, was dropped in favour of a distributor, DDV against a Team that he knew was going to go at us for 90 minutes. Bonkers, crazy decision and one that shows up elements of BR's European decision making qualities. Can get away with it in SPFL but not in Europe.

I thought he should have saved Neymar's free kick. It was nowhere near the corner and he just didn't move his feet quick enough. Couldn't really blame him for any of the others.

    Aye, he isn't convincing.

Think I'd rather stick with Gordon. There's a reason this guy hasn't really played at the top.

Hopefully we're looking into goalkeepers for next season. Germany churns them out. Should be scouting there.

Sure Gordon has a * up, but he saves those shots all day. Would've only been 4 with Gordon in goals.

No doubt that we should have been looking to replace Gordon but, for me, this guy is a step down rather than a step up. Not sure what BR sees in him. At the moment I'd rather have Gordon.

That wasn't his first game though to be fair, and he hasn't looked convincing in any so far. I don't think people are forming opinions of him solely based on last night.

We don't need a ball playing keeper for domestic games and certainly can't afford to use one in the CL.

He has Hardly been tested though has he ? Aberdeen pressed high and never gave him any options to pass he had a bad kick and the goal wasn't really that bad to criticise

Sevco conceded a goal the ball was headered back the way it came he ran to his near post expecting Miller to head it on target he never really had a chance... Wagpen save at the end was decent but as I said other than that he had nothing to do

Last night could have done better with a few but then so could have the defence

One of the best keepers in the Championship last season but even Joey Barton got in their TOTS down there.
