I've read comments about patience and comments on his nerves. Not for me, this may seem harsh to others but this is a 35 year old keeper. He could have easily put us in a very difficult position with his distribution, I do not expect a veteran to require a composing pep talk by Kolo mid match.

If he lacks a pair a baws against Aberdeen I certainly don't want to see him in the sticks against the zombies and especially not against Messi.

Didn't see the game today but I've lost all confidence in Gordon, give de Vries a run of games and see what he can do.

Too early to judge, of course nerves come into this.

He's under pressure as he's been brought in as a 'ball playing sweeper keeper' and he obviously feels he needs to live up to that reputation and show everyone he's capable of that.

He was trying too hard today, dallying too long on the ball and taking an age to decide what he was going to do next. Not to mention that was one of the biggest if not the biggest crowds he's played in front of of 60K. A few more games for him to settle his nerves and he'll come good imo. Was POTY as Forest and it takes a lot for a keeper to win that over any outfield player.

I thought he should have done better with the goal though, it was obvious Rooney was going for the far corner off balance and De Vries should have made it, the slack pass I just put down to nerves.

Gordon has had his chance and blew it, De Vries deserves his chance now.

Sevco and Barcelona next though :smiley-laughing002:

Talk about pressure games to be thrown into. Baptism of fire as they say.

Won't draw conclusions after one match although distribution made Gordon look like Beckenbauer.

He was gash today no better than Gordon and the defence suffered. No better than Gordon so why replace?

Not really enough to judge, he didn't have anything to do apart from the goal, and he had no chance with that. It was just his kicking that was the problem.

So another keeper who can't kick? Despite constantly hearing before hand that he was all about that.

Not impressed. Not * but honestly, if you hadn't read the team sheet you woulda thought it was Gordon.

First game so I'll give the guy his due. No chance with the goal but his kicking is *.

Don't understand Rogers thinking, throwin this guy in against Aberdeen, means if he was to have a bad game which he kinda did he could be a nervous wreck against the huns, and if he puts Gordon back in his confidence will have been shattered now that he knows his place in the team looks very uncertain

My old man said the exact thing, he has heaped twice as much pressure on both keepers now, but at the end if the day its his call.

2 very experienced goalkeepers. If they can't handle pressure then they're at the wrong club.

BR is really quite ruthless under that calm demeanour. Dropping CG who must have felt comfortable in his position...... it takes that kind of manager to make such incisive decisions. I'm pleasantly surprised by how he goes about his business. If folk don't measure up they're out and no hanging about.
