Remember reading something about him when we signed him saying he's meant to have one or two screws loose :smiley-laughing002:

Not sure the point in this. A replacement for Gordon? Surely not. A replacement for fasan and baily just now? Perhaps.

Would be content if it means punting the two back ups we have and promoting Doohan as well. Then look long term over the next year for a proper replacement. But we need a better keeper now, surely?

What makes you think he can't replace Gordon?

    Just meaning long term wise.

Obviously there are plenty of examples of keepers playing well in to their late 30s, but they tend to already be quality keepers.
Surely at the age of 35 its a quick fix for a year, maybe two?
And the fact of his age and worked with Rodgers before I don't imagine he would be wanting to be a bench warmer, so at that age is it really a long term replacement? Surely not?

At 35 he has another 3 good seasons in him at least. Rodgers has nothing but good words to say about him. I'm very happy he's getting his man.

Tbh a penalty takers job is to score the penalty he has the advantage in that situation and should be scoring a keeper can only really guess where he is going to put the ball

    Could do, could also not.

Hope he does, not against the transfer at all, don't know too much about him to be fair. But poty for his team last season is promising.

Just a bit sceptical of the age and the long term thinking behind it. Would rather we spent a bit of money on a 23 year old with potential, years ahead and resale value. But that's for different reasons.

Brendan's got 3 outta 3 bang on so far, so I'll trust in whatever he sees..

Guy was poty last year and has excellent distribution by all accounts , plus Brendan knows him well. Don't see a problem at all with his age either, due to his position..

Agreed, 35 isn't all that old for a keeper and as said earlier Van Der Sar was Class for United and signed at 34. This guy is highly rated by Forrest fans and by looks of things is going to be coming on the cheap. Rodgers trusts him and if we want to fully implement the passing out from the back we need a keeper with come Distribution.

Even if he is a total * up he is gonna be a cheap gamble and at 35 can offer advice to youngsters.

This is a trust in Brendan moment for me. But the fact that he won POTY for Forest last year gives me a bit more confidence.

Yep. Cheap, a known quantity to Brendan and seemingly has the perfect attributes for what we need..

If he's good, great. If not then it's no massive loss, and even if we get a good year out of him, I imagine we have other's lined up. Seems a quick fix for a problem area. I welcome the change..

Another good example. Hopefully we get De Vries in and fit to play, this should hopefully get Gordon to raise his game as well knowing another keeper is coming in.

Gordon's poor distribution is the main reason behind this, can't expect to see Brendans style in the full with Gordon just lumping it anywhere half the time he gets the ball
