they guy is a good player who woudnt cost us a fee. his problem is from the hull side of things. he has a contract worth £45k a week for the next few years and they are trying to throw him out the door to get him off the wage bill. hes obviously looking for a pay off from them to make up the shortfall in his wages and who can blame him?? he hasnt made big money in his career. this is his first big money contract he has been on so why should he walk away. same thing happening with thompson at rangers just now. he is refusing to sign for boro until he recieves a pay off from rangers as they are forcing him out the door. who can blame them as we would all do the same...

He would be a great loan signing. Forget all the tabloid chat.

I agree Roslea he would be a good signing, but if the reports were true about his demands, i personally would not want him anywhere near CP as he is the type of modern-day football i am quickly despising.

Are his demands wrong though? Forget the tabloid reports though.... Hull want shot of him, Celtic won't pay him 45k that he is currently on so he wants hull to make it up. He's doesn't want 75k. That's posh paper talk

At the end of the day if he is 45k a week with Hull, then he is more than entitled to maintain this wage when out on loan..but my point is that if there ARE ANY THRUTHS in these reports about him demanding even more money after weeks of deliberation with Celtic, then i think this is abysmal on his part.

whats wrong with the demands?? he wants a pay off from hull. whats wrong with that?? the £75 k a week is nonsence. thats the papers putting his £45k at hull on top of the £30k celtic are offering him. he is diferent from most pro players as he hasnt made a fortune out of football. his first decent money was at fulham but even then he was on a very average wage. thats why he jumped at the chance to go to hull as they were offering him wages he coudnt dream off a few yrs ago so lay off him. this will be his last decent move so give him a break.

I would wait and see what transpires over the next few weeks and not be too hasty and calling him a c**t. Dont believe all thats written in the press. He might still sign and score the winner against the huns. If so the haters are gonna feel pretty * stupid.

As i say man if there is any truth in this, then that is what will be upsetting me with this deal. However, if he is being reasonable with wage demands then i dont have a problem with it.

Why would a club like Hull loan a player out and still pay his wages of 45k a week when they are in debt?

They wouldn't but they owe him 45k per week so he wants a pay off to makewages up to that. Celtic only willing to pay 30k. Simples

why would u believe the press. the only person we have heard from is pearson from hull. he is scunnered as he thought he was getting him off the wage bill. do u seriously think he wants £75k a week?? its just a game of cat and mouse between him and hull. if he asks for his full wage then he hopes they make him an offer and then that will allow him to leave for celtic without having to drop his weekly salary. thats not being greedy thats just being smart. if he stays at hull then they will have to pay him over £2m this year. if they give him £500k he will prob be off to us and therefor save £1.5m.

I think its a bit of bull...nobody ever asks that, and the press is either stupid of just full of themselves. I think it probably more likely that Hull wants Celtic to pay 30k out of his 45k a week salary, which is a third of the salary.

But even at that, we cannot afford 30k for an injury prone player who is only going to be with us for a year. I rather spend it on a Bosman/freebie such as Ledley....
