    Ill be honest and say I've never heard the phrase being using other than in an Ira context. If its a phrase that's used in everyday language then I apologize for the misunderstanding. You live and you learn!

    It's a common phrase(Proverb?) in Ireland, kinda like alba gu brath.

    Became known/popular to the world because it was Bobby Sands last words or something like that.
