Just seen his tackle back on tv there, red card written all over it! Lucky Bhoy. The main problem I have with Dan, is his heading ability. Its shocking. That handball incident today was a weird one, was quite lucky to get away with that too. I do like him though, he's a great guy and he's put in some decent performances over the season.

    Totally.

We've conceded only 22 league goals this entire season. 22. There's only once in the last twenty years that any SPL side has conceded fewer.

Considering Maj has had to help break in Charlie Mulgrew, who's not previously played as a CB, that is an impressive record.

    This.

There are lies, * lies and statistics. No matter how often the stat about best defence gets trotted out I refuse to believe he is decent.

I judge players on how they play, not the statistics that can be produced to defend or crucify them with. And when I watch Maj, it's usually from behind the sofa.

Loovens has been really good recently.

When maj was playing with rogne or mulgrew he played right centre back but with loovens he plays left centre back.
He's not the best defender and jumps flat footed at times and * nose how he can't hit the target cos his career goals matches dioufs and is better than lavatory's goals per game ratio. Mind you not hard to beat that :56:
but he's scored 61 or so career goals and finished 2nd top scorer with Basel in 2007-2008 season on 11 goals.

    hail hail:shamrock:

i think he has done a job for us this season, but he has look slow and also for a big guy he is not the best in the air, also he is 34 now and will get slower next season

i fear if he is playing in europe for us next season and will get found out more..... he can be a back up player at best next season help the younger players come on and get a better and faster CB in with more quailty than the big man, he is ok for the SPL but nothing more

A think he has done pretty well. Has made our back line a bit more solid. He is a back to basics defender just get rid of the ball kind of defender and a think we need his height. Maybe we just need another solid cb in there beside him. He seems to lead the defence quite well. Dont think forsters vocal enough for it.

The amount of free headers he misses the target with is absolutely astonishing, he should be sitting with probably 8-12 goals for the season, in the summer he needs to grow some hair then maybe the ball wouldn't fly off his big shiny napper at such wild angles.

He was solid for us before the injury and when he was out it showed how we missed him, but there's no doubt that he's had a few sloppy moments since returning to full fitness.

Hopefully, he'll get a proper rest over summer then come back fit for next season.

Almost as bad as Hooiveld or whatever his name was. I'll be glad to see the back of him. Going into the Europa Qualifying match with him again would be ridiculous.

As you may have noticed I think he's terrible but if he's 34 I think he wont last another season.

I have been thinking about the low number of goals we have conceded, its could be because we have a midfield that can keep the ball and can therefore defend well.

Get rid. If he had hair like sammy or loovens, half his performances simply would not have been tolerated.

He's a motivator and he obviously cares, but we can't be ruled by sentiment.

I think he's done relativly well so far but he's poor on the ball and when under pressure and he's too slow! Painfully slow at times! He wins everything in the air but seriously suspect when under pressure!

He will not cope in europe purely on pace, and that's already been exploited a number of times so far this season! Good for experience and in the air, not a long term solution!

    Hail Hail!

He's played really well yesterday. Overall he might not be the fastest defender and has his odd mistakes, still can't see why people don't give him credit for the lowest amount of received goals in so many years.

It's not he's been playing with experienced and natural defenders all the time. He guided our defence well, something I haven't seen in a long time.

People say we would get raped in Europe. Honestly I can't think of a good defensive formation we had since Sevilla. All the Gary Caldwells, Mick McManuses, Virgos, O'Deas, Thompsons etc all had their moment of horror in Europe as well. It's not like we were gifted with quality defensemen in the past few years.

The fact that we've had pish defenders recently should, if anything, be a motivation to get rid of the big lump, not a reason to keep him in the team!!

I'm not saying he's worldclass or that we can't do any better. However he's a good defender compared to the trash we have been forced to see in the past few years.

I just think he deserves a little bit of credit where it's due.
