you do know that in that video hes against a 20 year old Argentinian who has only been at st mirren since the start of the season so its not that impressive

The SPL is a lot more physical than italian. Italian is all about passing movement, the SPL is not. Its not an easy adjustment.

It's * as far as i'm concerned , if he wants to leave , let him play CL games elsewhere...he won't be lost...nor would brown , money wise ?...did we buy S.Brown for the CL?...cos his experience in said comp is wot ? for the amount of money that boy gets he should be able to adjust. didn't take di canio this long to settle and his story is pretty similar to donati, both signed for big money for milan and didn't do very well there so came to parkhead. i'm not doubting his ability, its his application, so far anyway

McGeady is my 2nd favorite player on celtic, hes scottish. I was also the 2nd biggest Paul Hartley supporter on here (behind GD) when he first came here. the same with pressley.

Donati is like the rest of the midfield average. It doesent matter if your a Scot,Italian or an Alien if you are not essential to the team and your not totaly happy then for me its no great loss.

We need players who will improve us not just keep us ticking over.IMO we dont have anyone at the club Boruc and mcgeady aside that we wouldnt find it dificult to replace.

I kind of agree with Iontach setiment that a Scot gets more leway.However if you show you are comited and you bring some consistent quality to the side then for me it wouldnt matter if you are an Alien.

I also agree that Donati´s overall contribution has been more productive than Scot Brown´s this season.However fans seem to turn a blind eye to Brown´s performances.Their can only be two logical reasons for this 1 As Iontach points out his nationality or 2. His transfer fee.

If it is because of nationality then this is realy a sad inditement of narrow perocial minds something that definatley is present amongst secular scots.We should be embracing diversity and be equaly as tolerant towards them as some sections seem to be towards Scots and not just suport them when it suits us.

i disagree compleatly. scots get LESS layway. if a scot comes in from another spl club its instantly he's no good enough, we should be spending on quality its then an upward struggle for them to actaully prove there good enough. scots and spl players when its just a rumour are branded not good enough and not champions league quality. they would prefer someone who has a fancy name from seria a or la liga that they've never seen or heard off. but if its an spl player he's written off instantly and tbh, only half the suport are pleased they signed.

 

Yes I can see your argument that their are some sections of the suport that would be more excited to see a continental player coming than an SPL Scot.

I class myself as one of these however not because I would prefer to see a foreign player.It is because I know the standard of player that Scotland has just now and to me they are simply not to the standard befitting a Celtic player.So of course when we are interested in a foreign name then their is an element of mystery and excitement.However if he proves to be no better than a similar standard Scot then I can agree with Iontach that paitience towards that player would be less than if he was a Scot.

 

how many scots have been signed with the full backing? the reason brown gets away with so much - wich btw no one thinks hes the dogs bollox anyway, is because he's so young and his potential is clear to see not because of his natinality. or his transfer fee, as at the time you may remember half the fans weren't happy with.
diffrence is ellboy- bobaldinho comes in the door and everyones excited and praised as the dogs bollox before he's kicked a ball. then he disapoints everyone is gutted.
bob comes in fae the spl and everyones gutted and they have to prove them selfs. robson has instantly silenced all critics with two goals in two games. so now everyone - (bar iontach for natinality reasons only ) has warmed to him. hartley has been here for how long and people have just started noticing that he plays a defencive roll at the club and just begining to get a bit of the praise he deserves.

bit unfair to say scots get in easy here, really is it not? they're seems to be two ladders
one for the forginer who starts at the top and can quickly slide down and the spl players* one which is murder to get to the top of unless you score a few goals in your first few games
