He was always on his way out. The fact he wasnt on the plane to Australia in the first game showed this. It's good business for a player who seems to have a twin brother most weeks.

So long Mo Mo - like so many Celtic foreign players before you, let us watch you fade into oblivion having made yer money.........

 

Totally agree, the team is gonna be stripped of all quality and we are gonna get more mediocre players to replace them

It's hardly surprising is it, Donati spoke about wanting to return to Italy a couple of months ago, hoping that someone would come in for him.

Donati has had many more opportunities that a lot of players have been given to make himself a regular starter for Celtic. I would say he played well in around a quarter to perhaps a third of these games. So his recent form suggests to me that he upped his game as a result of being motivated by a move back home. It's a pity that in the last two years the motivation to be a star player at Celtic wasn't enough to generate the type of performances expected of a £30k a week player playing in a poor league.

So, Massimo, thank you for the handful of games where your play was of a genuinely high quality, and good luck in the future.

A frustrating player. There was certainly some talent there but he had a habit of putting the tools away in games when we were up against it. I'd imagine he will mainly be remembered for his goal against Shakhtar.

 

he obviously didnt want to be at celtic he had pretty much made it clear that he wanted to go back to Italy. There is no point having a player stay who is unhappy. I wish him luck and we move on. Maybe theres a midfielder coming in.

And another average foreign player leaves us without contributing too much but took a lot. And I was hoping we were gettin another di canio when he signed

Jeckyl and Hyde character. A midfield playmaker, who could spray the ball 60 yrds, but couldn't complete a 5 yrd pass. I really like the guy, but he's a liability and often a passenger.

I'll miss you lots Massimo. Brilliant player, shame Strach never gave you a decent chance. You were amazing for us this season, it's a shame you're not staying on. Hail hail, you'll never be forgotten for your Shakhtar wondergoal.

Sad to see any player go but Donati, I think, if the figures are correct is an excellent piece of business by TM. Donati wanted more time on the ball than a hooker * bent on drugs. 30k a week? Thats 3 players at 10k a week then? or 2 at 15k? Lets not forget TM is a beast at spotting talent!

 

Not terrible surprised. He was decent so far this seasoning, nice to free up some space, make some cash back, and free 30k in the wages. Maybe get some other players involved as well.

Good luck to Massimo. It just didn't work out for him here, hope he can find a "home" at Bari.
