Aye I really like Livakovic, but 70k for a keeper that apparently has horrendous distribution would be madness for us.

At the same time, if we bid earlier we might already have him in, need to be quicker with these things.

We absolutely need a GK to bail us out in Europe at times. We won't dominate the big teams anyway. Livaković is the closest GK to prime Boruc/Forster that we can afford the transfer fee for.

I 100% agree. Until we start paying players more, we're never attract or hold on to good quality players in their prime. It just isn't going to happen.

I'd like to who who the better keepers are we have a chance at signing by the way.

Wonder how much the Japanese goalkeeper. Kosuke Nakamura would cost

Probably not much. He conceded a lot at club level.

I notice he's still not been announced by that small club in Turkey?

A keeper who can save the ball is a far more valuable keeper than one who can kick well. We will not be able to sign one who can do both because they are so rare and sought after.

Regardless of how much the game has moved on, players still need to have the fundamentals.

I get your point but having a keeper who’s good with his feet will help us retain possession and that’ll reduce the number of chances we concede in Europe. There isn’t a conveyor belt guys who are good at both in our budget but they can be found. Rio Ave for example had Ederson and Oblak on their books at the same time

Probably documents need to be exchanged and Livaković needs to sign the contract. Of course, it's not official until the club announce it.

They haven't yet, but they are trying. I wish we actually tried to get into the mix. He'd have:1. CL, not so much money 2. Conference League, more money, or... 3. too much money to know what do with it, but no serious football.

Bumping this due to something I've just read in the Croatian media.

Apparently, Fenerbahce add the sum of yearly wages and agent fees with the nominal fee to get the value of a transfer. So, that would, in their words, add up to nearly €20M, which they don't want to pay. So, Dinamo aren't getting their €10M for Livaković- the Turks don't want to pay more than 7M to Dinamo.:56:

    Never trust Turkish sources, Romano.

EDIT: another news outlet reports Fenerbahce have switched target to an U-21 Croatian keeper who was on loan in Holland from Italy. Cheaper, I guess.

Remember how I've been saying he'd improved in dealing with crosses? About that...

He's had a few crosses he grabbed during the clash with Hajduk, but the equalizer of Hajduk was his fault. 6:47 on the video. A blocked cross went up in the air like a typical punt does, and fell into the box. Hajduk's striker was blocking off Livaković partially and another defender with his body, and the indecisive keeper watches as the striker traps it and scores past. He was stuck between staying on his line fully or going through anyone to get the high ball, penalties be damned, and chose neither. Hajduk's shocking winner came from a corner- the whole defense acted poorly.

Could be why Fenerbahce backed away.
