Historically he’s been well connected and informed on off the field matters within the club. Dare I say he used to be close with PL but I think that relationship has soured in recent years. Used to live tweet from the AGM before that was a thing.

Anyway, that’s his claim. More interesting was how astounded he was that the Howe deal had fallen through. Claims he had started working on recruitment and had even told them to go and get Kerr from St Johnstone. Also said he knows for a fact that Howe rang Desmond after hearing of the attack on Lawwell’s gaff

I don’t think they would need to declare it, this would have technically been PL holiday period in the close season, it’s not uncommon that people’s official finishing date and the actual one are different due to owed annual leave etc, particularly when it’s senior roles.

I could see this being true purely from a timing point of view.

It’s apparent that he knows the square root of * all about football. Which is why recruiting a DOF/sporting director should have been the number 1 priority this summer. This guy is of little assistance to the ‘on the field’ rebuild

That accent doesn’t help right enough

Gonna be interesting how the board sympathisers are gonna square this one.

Been telling us for two months that even though he's "in the door" he isn't really "working" and that it isn't his place to make a public statement to the fans till Peter has left the building and he "officially" takes over on July 1st.

Bit odd if that was all the case, that he's now showing face to make these grand statements and going to do a big interview with him and Ange very soon.

(Though judging by Celtics sense of time, that could still be anywhere between now and 2030).

A lot of talk about his ‘vision’ and ‘modernising’ the club. I haven’t seen any of that put into action yet.

It’s great that we now have a manager in place. Wouldn’t have being my first pick but quietly confident he’s got the character to be a success.

However the managerial appointment should have been secondary to a DOF appointment. Talk all you want about evolving the footballing structure but until we have a DOF then it’s all just waffle.

Postecoglou talks about looking forward to working with the players and staff. I hope to * that he doesn’t include JK and GS in that. It’s an absolute farce if they stay.

Why can't he just say Celtic. Why does he have to say "Celtic Football Club" every time? He also says it really fast like he's worried he's saying it wrong.

I found it strange that he didn't say or give a date as to when we could get Ange on a flight? We all know he has to quarantine in the country for 10 days so why not get him on the * earliest flight possible? Also, the fact we had to do the interview from Japan and there was no mention of him coming over soonish? Maybe looking too much into it but surely needs to be happening in next couple of days.

    Also Dom

Next in the door is Ange backroom team
    Then a Director of Football

    Thanks

I don’t get how that’s odd at all? He officially takes over first of July and has been going through a handover. How does that stop him from taking a press conference and talking about his vision for the club?

Also noticed how he said we were at an ‘advanced’ stage of recruitment planning.

Clearly Celtic’s perception of advanced will be different to ours considering it took them 2 weeks to appoint Postecoglou despite saying they were in advanced talks with him after Howe fell through.

I hope advanced really does mean advanced this time and there will be news on this front soon. We are in dire need of good news. The squad is threadbare and we will be * if any of our players pick up injuries at the Euros.
