    Just cant get enough
If this is true then he might just be the right man for the job. The rest of the board should * off with their low ambitions for the club.

Doing his usual thousands of miles away on a golf course and not giving a * how our club is a * shambles and at this moment and need leadership and if he did care about Celtic he be flying into Glasgow and sort this mess out and sack a few board members including the chairman who has said * all in a disastrous season .

If I had to guess then there's been some sort of battle going on between McKay and Harkin/Postecoglou.

I doubt McKay wants a DOF coming in. He probably wants to run the club the way Lawwell did, with no one to challenge him.

Just McKay and his managers, his coaches, his scouts, his agents. No one to go against the party line.

It's obvious to most people you need someone in a high position with sole focus on the football department. The CEO won't like that. At best, we'll see a token DOF come in, not a proper one.

I expect Postecoglou to still come in because at this point they cannot admit they had all their eggs in the Howe basket - because that would be gross incompetence.

Can you imagine them requesting applications at this point?

I think it will be the exact opposite tbh Mckay was well aware we were looking for a DoF and that he was being brought in as part of a shake up to 'modernise the football department'. I think from the outside looking in is that Lawwell still has far to much input considering he wont be here in a few weeks there will also be board members loyal to Lawell as well as he will have got them on the board in the first place

Hopefully you're right but if that's the case, why has Harkin gone and why have we had no pro-active mention of a DoF revamp from McKay?

    Tin foil hat time

I could see Harkin being happy with Howe but his suggestion was Maresca. Howe fell through and Maresca by that time had gone to Parma. Lawwell flapping as it's left him in the lurch gets in contact with his son who recommends Ange and then Lawwell strives forward and makes contact with Ange. Mckay and Harkin not happy with the idea of Ange leading to Harkin walking away which lead the club (Lawwell) to drip feed the 'Under qualified and million miles off it' quotes.

I don't think that is really that implausible tbh. The only names who were really mentioned for the managers job after the initial influx of names died down were Maresca and Howe and the only DoF mentioned was Harkin

I guess we'll never know the truth of it but nothing wrong with a bit of speculation.

I'd be interested to know how much input Lawwell really has had in this.

It's a lose-lose for McKay IMO. If Lawwell has had zero input, then obviously this is all McKay's fault and he's way out of his depth and should be removed.

If Lawwell has been running the show, then McKay simply isn't fit for purpose. He's supposed to be a high-powered business exec. Coming into this type of job he should be essentially ousting Lawwell on day 1. If he's allowed Lawwell to run the show for more than 24 hours after he started then he shouldn't be a CEO.

If the Australian is dumped in favour of someone else now it’s a clear sign McKay has put his foot down as he’s now in charge.

I’d personally * love that to be the case for 2 reasons; he’s got a backbone and more importantly we’re not landed with Ange.

Yeah for me this is more the likely case, out of the two theories

If McKay wanted to run it him self, ala lawwell, I don't see why lawwell would mind that after he leaves.

If anything it's what the board would want more of, surely?

Makes more sense that McKay has been pushing for the modernisation and that's the issues in this as Ange would be seen to come in on his own at this stage.

The rumours of him potentially already looking at the door must be mental though.

Unless he's using it as a way to shut lawwell up already?

Mental how poorly we are run.

Harkin, the city group and Ange are all cosey cosey I think so it wouldn’t be that if he’s in tow with them.

But so was Maresca I think he was Harkins suggestion. I don't think it's any coincidence that Ange came out of absolutely nowhere then a few days later Harkin was ruled out.

When does Lawell properly leave and this guy get full control? Got a horrible feeling we won't have a manager till then

Right Dom, it’s as good a day as any to put on your big boy pants and actually do the job you’re employed to do.
