    Actually, scratch that.

For Neil Lennon to last longer than Willie Maley as manager he would have to manage the club until he was into his 80's. That's not going to happen.

So the answer to the question is no.

    It's possible.

I truly believe he'll do 10 in a row. After that? Who knows.

    I'm not picky.
There's no way in * Lenny will have a chance to be our longest serving manager because no one will beat Willie Maley.

Hopefully he'll be here for a good few years and I think if he's here with us for as long as Jock Stein then I'd be very happy.

    Honestly? Logically?

Managerial careers do not last very long these days. Since Jock Stein the average length of a manager's tenure at Celtic is just over two years. We had Strachan for four years and O'Neill we were lucky to have for five.

There are extremely few managers who last longer than that in the current climate, no matter how good their results are.

I'd personally like Lennon to be one of our longest serving managers but the probability given the present managerial career climate worldwide is extremely low. Sadly.

Things look set for Lennon to have the longest reign in a long time. He's young, still in a learning curve with Europe and stuff. He'll want to stay at Celtic to complete that education. Conditions are perfect - he's at a club he knows inside out, is well liked by the supporters, is a couple years into building a promising young team, is basically a shoe-in to win the league for the next 3-5 years. So with all that said its safe to say he is going no where for at least 4 years. Then when (if?) Zombcovian FC start to compete with us for the SPL title, Lennon will have had 3-5 years of developing his squad, learning how to play in Europe too. He's definitely gonna stick around to show the zombies who's in charge. What if they eventually win the title? You think Lennon just gonna quit there and then? * no, he'll want to reclaim the title. Then maybe another few year down the line things will get a bit boring, and a tempting offer from the premiership might lure him away.

So I'm saying we'll have Neil at the helm for at least 7 years. It'll be a proper "era" of the club. Non of your 10 month Mowbray "era" pish. Since when did 10 months constitute an era? Stein's time here, that was an era. The barren 90s, that was an era. Possible 7 years of Lennon, that would be an era. 10 months is a * weekend, not an era, in the grand scheme.

Anyway, it will be very strange when he finally does leave. I can't imagine anyone else managing Celtic since he took the job!

It will be the easiest era of any Celtic manager. Leagues are won for the next few years so we have nothing to judge him on apart from Europe so what if we dont progress there?? Is it just a free ride for Lennon for the next few years ?? Wouldnt really say a proper era .

    Let the people sing,
In the current state of football of managers coming and going like no-one business, even getting near the 10 year mark would be incredible.

I hope he serves at least longer than WGS and maybe MON too.
