They didn't look great in that game with 10 men or not, we grab a first half goal and we'll go through i think.

 

the thing that makes me confident is that we have generally gotten the results we really needed under rodgers. Including beating rosenborg and anderlecht away from home last year. The zenit game didn't really make or break our season as getting to europe past christmas was main target. This game really does define our season ahead


it's unlikely this will end up goalless so we really just need to avoid defeat. With the strikers we have playing out a high scoring draw should be more than doable.

 

hate to say it but no. We are capable of dominating and beating teams like this at home - when we keep up the tempo. But after we scored our goal our tempo disappeared and they grew back into the game and got them selves a lucky draw.

Unfortunately our away form is that of what we showed after we scored on Wed night, where other teams dominate us and we concede. Tie will be over in the first half probably.

Only hope is to park the bus and hit them on the break, which requires a huge amount of luck.

 

Trouble is our defensive bus has most of the windaes panned in and a burst tyre

 

correct mate the only slip up was their goal apart from that we dominated and if a couple of chances had gone our way we could have been 3-1 up.HH.

 

For me 50/50, this is I well organised team that we found difficult to break down I'd start with the 2 up top, think that's they way to go against them

Park the bus??? Do you know anything about this Celtic side? We need to go out there and score, what good will parking the bus do? If we play to our strengths and attack, we can win this tie. If we sit in and 'park the bus' we will crumble like we usually do when we try and defend a lead away in europe. Christ, we put 5 past Astana last year and crumbled away. Look at Beer Sheeva away too. For whatever reason, we are incapable of this tactic. Lets go over and play as we can. Not go there bricking it and defending in hope.

 

If everyones on form and gives 100% then we could blow them away. Need big performances all over the park though, and that doesn't look likely after our last couple of games in Europe.

Think Brendan will have them fired right up for this one though. 3-1 Celtic.

 

As Mick says, Brendan will want to fire a rocket up their arses. He’s clearly annoyed at the board so one way of getting rid of that stress would be to skelp this mob next week.

 

'Play as we can' as you put it works well in the SPL.

You cant ignore how this 'play as we can' has worked out for us in Europe this last few years... where looking forward to European football has turned into - oh dear hear comes another 4/5/6 - nil.

I agree with earlier post our park the bus capabilities are probably futile.

As it stands we're out so parking the bus should not be an option.

As we have nothing to lose we should go with an ultra attacking team and hope to outscore them or at least get a high scoring draw.

We will concede, that's a given.

The best we can hope for is something like 2-2 or 3-3.

 

Mad we're actually favourites over 90 minutes for the second leg.

I've seen too many away games in Europe to be confident we'll go through but I do think we can do it. Get Boyata and Simunovic back in as the centre half pairing.

We are more than capable of scoring a couple of goals over there. Issue is that we are equally more than capable of shipping a couple too. Really hope we can sort ourselves out defensively to give our attackers every chance of winning it for us at the other end.
