nice gesture from the club today, as a part of events welcoming Chinese new year and also a PR and marketing attempt, they invited 16 Chinese today to do a stadium tour.
Unfortunately the organization goes terribly wrong somewhere. only 2 out of 16, me and another pal of mine are geniune Celtic fan, the rest are guys merely know a few basic about football in general, and girls (also few guys) knows * all about fitba at all. I reckon they must get some "student rep" or "community leaders" something along that line, so no wonder these people do not care about Celtic at all.
So basically these 14 fellow Chinese ruined my day. From the start many of them interested in their i-phones, gossip talk and discuss of their own private life rather than listen to the tour guide. When I say "hail hail" to the staff, they all thought I was speaking Gaelic, and they do not know any hint of Inter coming to the town. the thing irrated me almost to the bursting point is that halfway through the tour a girl still think she was seeing "rangers football club" today !!:31::31::31::31::31:
By no means I' critising the club's good will, but it is a shame that while a lot of Chinese football fans get no chance to be invited, these 14 people get a tour which they don't care at all. And I know I should not judeg these guys , but my guts just hate these corperate/business people hanging around football ground as a social encounter rather than supporting their team. I remember I also get angry when a Chinese girl next to me came to see Kaka only, showing no knowledge of football at all and no much respect for Celtic (our performance did not help I reckon).
Is it just me being grumpy? or geniune football fans just don't like outsiders and tourists?? I know it is childish to judeg others who paid for their tickets/ got their official invitation ect, but I just cannot lie to my gut feeling.:smiley-laughing002:
PS: btw I'll be drawing for Celtic pool "paradise windfall" at 22nd Feb Hamilton Accie game. so if you will be there, and you see a slightly more ample Chinese bloke at half time at pitch well that will be me :icon_mrgreen::bbpd::celt_2:

Well, aslong as the people calling themselves Celtic supporters represent us well and do know a big bit on our club then I am fine with some visitors that dont know a * about us. Celtic is a club open to all and I am happy that our identity and our cause is standing strong in times of soulless clubs like Chelsea and ManU.

What keeps the identity of our club alive is the spirit and passion of the proper supporters. We have our fair share of 'prawn sandwich' fans, but they do not represent the Celtic cause of being outspoken, passionate and faithful! :50:

Open to all in terms of wherever they came from and so. I would´t mind a tourist from england, togo, japan, germany or any other country beeing interested in Celtic, he doesnt have to be interested in football at all before getting into liking us and becoming a passionate supporter. -

It is a good point mate. But to begin they have to show a bit of interest to get to know us. These people clearly gave no care about Celtic and the charity spirit championed by brother Walfrid etc. For them it is a social hangout with their business/politics/students circle, and a few pic taken and posted on social media that's all for him. everytime I saw these people I cannot help but think how many chance they denied the genuin fans to get in CP ?? like the sold out CL games when I see casual tourists and think about fans who demand a ticket but not get one....made my stomach tb honest.
I know i being a total judgemental * here but that's how I really feel -

Do I hate the Prawn Sandwich Brigade??
Not overly. Just as annoying as the people who sit looking at their phones while the game is on. They then comment on the game as if they've got some tactical nous. That drives me daft.
I have experienced being a guest in the boxes in the main stand at Celtic Park, towards the end of last season. The guy that owns it(well it's his brother who lives in Austrailia who has paid it for him) has been going to the games since the 60's. Unfortunately due to his deteoriating health, this is the only way he's able to attend games. A family member takes him to the games and they invite some friends, some who clearly just go for the meal and drink.
Originally I was in two minds whether to go or not. I went and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I much prefer being out in the stands though. -

I have a bigger problem with our fans who scramble for tickets for games like the one on thursday but are completely apathetic when it comes to supporting Celtic in the league or early domestic cup games.
