Do you miss Rangers?

  1. Now that the huns are no more and forcing people to try and keep up with their cheating, more clubs can begin to focus once again on home grown talent and through time might become more profitable.

Another good run for us in the CL next season could then bring another CL place for all the other clubs to chase and that would inevitably bring extra crowds in, look how close the race for second is this year.

  2. The build-up on a Sunday morning when your half-pished and listening to the Rebel songs before the match?

    I miss that! :50:

  3. Well, from what we've seen this season the "brand new dawn" has seen reduced attendances (including ours), and less interest in the title race.

As for other clubs challenging, it won't happen. As I mentioned, when a club can finish 2nd, get into the Champions League qualifiers, spend zero money on players and still have to cut their budget you know * ain't looking good.

  4. * sake mate, Rome wasn't built in a day.

    You can't expect instant results.

Back before the huns were buying (and probably cheating) their way to 9 in a row Scottish football was competitve and clubs like Aberdeen regularly drew crowds of 18/20k

There are clubs out there with a sleeping fan base, most of them finished in the bottom 6 this year granted. :smiley-laughing002:

  5. Some good points in here. I voted yes, as I do miss the games and the challenge. But as someone else brought up, they're hardly the club we remember so fondly. :smiley-laughing002: They'd probably struggle in the SPL now, anyways.

  6. :50:

  7. Miss Rangers specifically? No. Miss having a local rival? A bit. Miss a serious challenge in the league? Chronically.

  8. Can honestly say I don't. Hope the newco go bust to.

  9. Agree with every word.

I know most disagree, but i would bet my house that this years attendances will be higher than next year's.....and next year's will be higher than the following year's!
I know many people try to see the positives of the whole mess, and that is fair enough, but if people cannot see that Scottish football will die without both halves of the rivalry in the long term, they are deluded.
It will die.We may find a get out.......but if we dont, we will suffer tremendously.

Call them whatever name you like, resent them all your life....but if we are to stay in Scotland, and stay healthy....we need them in the long term!
No doubt about it for me.

  10. I would think the hundred pound reduction will see attendances increase next year for sure.

  11. Aye, that is definitely a good move, and it will help season ticket sales for sure, but i cant help but feel pessimistic about actual attendances after Xmas.....IF, we are out of Europe and heading for another canter in the league....which is a very real possibility.

I say all this as someone who is a fairweather fan at best, and who hasnt been to a game for over a year........but as an observer so to speak, that is how i feel.

  12. Don't miss them, miss when we gub the * out of them but.

  13. P.S. I havent voted, because i am torn.I do miss them in terms of the rivalry and love/hate thing.....but i feel more at peace with myself and society without so much bitterness.................but that could be a bad sign for Scottish football, although a good thing for Scottish society!

    ok.

  14. My feelings exactly.

  15. couldnt care less about them. they don't mean anything.

    don't miss them at all.

  16. No if want to see a bunch Zombies ill watch a movie.
