Apparently Aberdeen had very well respected casuals in the 80's, and actually invented the 'casual' look for hooligans?

dont get me wrong i don't doubt at all that there was large number of celtic supporters who were shouting CSC but the the thing is there was only a handful of CSC down there. Due to the fact it was chelsea away, the celtic support was ripe with idiots that day that wanted to believe they were in greet street or some * and the majority of the people shouting it would have just been drink fueled wannabe hardmen. The CSC are said to be a somewhat more subtle and business like hooligan group who dont have any time for having tag alongs who shout out and proclaim they are part of an illegal force.

Aye. Aberdeen in the mid-to-late 80's was a scary place to go. The ASC used to take up 2 or 3 full sections of the South Stand, next to the old Beach End. They could easily turn out a mob of 4-500 boys for big games at Pittodrie. They were also the first organised/dressed Scottish mob, followed by Motherwell & Hibs. Not many firms went up there & managed to turn them over on their own patch. They also seemed to be able to appear from * nowhere as you walked through Aberdeen city centre.

think there is a book that an ex csc bhoy wrote, think it came out maybe a year or so ago, didnt read it but the review was just about how they struggled to organise and maintain their crew because the tic fans that werent in the crew didnt really stand for any of their nonsense apparently!!

they took inspiration from Liverpool if what one of their members said is to believed, and took it to a new level with their money from the Oil and that up there, in terms of the gear.

Forgive me for bumping this thread, but i'm interested in this subject from a social perspective, I myself am not a violent person but this is a very prominent culture within football. I know everyone says Celtic didn't have a top-class 'mob' as it were, but really, that doesn't tell all the story. Because, you can get a small club with about 30 or 40 core that are top-notch in terms of 'this stuff' whereas with a bigger club and bigger support there is a larger core and a bigger spectrum of supporter types so it's sort of diluted. Besides, I got the impression that Celtic or indeed Rangers didn't have to be 'casuals' since there were so many in numbers that they had the safety. Same with some down south here, where they may not have recognised sets of 'lads', but there are so many of them, you don't know whet they're like for sure.

So who was really the best in Scotland? I have heard it was Aberdeen over time, but Hibs have that claim to fame with that train station incident. Where they were after revenge.

I am curious and interested more than anything. Probably not my place to make concrete comments on this stuff, since I have never been in and around it and since most of this stuff is before me a little. Am not guna pretend am actually a hooligan man:97: haha.

Any of yous into the clothes? what brands do you look to?

Dont think we have CSC anymore but probs a very small amount. Scottish casuals have a big name so I have heard, Hibs and Aberdeen are mental!

The top ones are your, Aberdeen, Hibs and dundee Utility, but a few of the lower league teams in division 1 and such have pretty nasty firms like Airdrie were once a fine squad, don't know if they still are though.

CSC still on the go, about 30 lads, usually backed up with a few Bohemian (dublin) and Wrexham lads, calling themselves the Celtic Alliance.

it's certainly a back-street thing in this country now is it not?

Probs why you don't hear about it much. If theyre after people from those places they must want to remain strong

doesn't matter about the status of the clubs when it comes to this thing. It's irrelevant- sorta my point about having a small group attatched to a small club. Can you be sure it was the 'real' lads though?
