Yes, definitely. Switched the telly off after the Aberdeen game and just lay on the floor for about half an hour absolutely gutted.

Well, I certainly don't feel good anymore during that day. And I have some weird feeling in my guts for the next few days ... :54:

It's a mixed bag, depends on the game, result & what it means.
I try to be realistic in that I know we can't win the league every year, and that sometimes having a great year in the league & europe can be followed by a poor one.

Old Firm games are the worst for me, I rarely enjoy them, so much pressure before, during & after the game. The worst thing is I genuinely believe it's the one fixture we have never got our share of good luck in, so many times I've come away from Old Firm games gutted because of poor referee decisions, or Celtic's lack of converting chances.
Seen far too many games when we've battered Rangers, only for them to sneak a winner from nothing.

Old Firm games apart, I normally bounce back from defeats pretty quickly.

Well, when we lose I feel, well, not really sad, but annoyed.
When we win, I feel happy.

I cried when we lost to Porto, and when we got knocked out the Champions League by Lyon in the group stages, I remember going to my bed crying that night. Fair enough, I was only like 8 or 9 or something.

I was watching Champions League and UEFA Cup goals on YouTube the other day, and I actually got kinda sad thinking it will be a while until we're beating the likes of Barcelona, and playing, well, against those kinds of clubs.

And, I think this is kinda weird, I cried when Celtic lost the UEFA Cup final, but I didn't cry half as much when my granny died, PS, that doesnt mean I like Celtic more than my granny. :)

I would have to say the anger, hurt, loss, depression, apathy would all depend in the manor of the defeat but I am sure it would be one of the above when we lose. I would say giving up would be another one that comes to mind straight after a defeat.

We all know that there are more important things in life with death illness job losses and marriage splits to name a few but Celtic just seem to be a part of that with me TBO.

I remember the ibrox 4-4 game more than most because it was the weekend my gran died * rest her soul.
I remember being in hospital with a suspected tumour and knowing I was going to miss the game when we lost 3-2 to Man U at old Trafford on the box.

It is easy to put things into perspective but people still have to get on with there life’s when they come up against tragedies and Celtic to me is part of my life.

It is not another job that pays the bills which I can choose to change if I’m not happy with it and here lies the reason for my problems.

I haven’t changed 1 bit over the year and now that I live in Ireland my only difference would be the fact I don't have the humiliation of the Monday mornings in work with having to face the music when I go in.

When in Scotland, our whole bus where the same, coming back from a cup final defeat on the bus was like taking a bus ride to a funeral all be it with a few arguments to who was to blame.

On the other hand when we came back from a good win it was bedlam from start to finish to questions to where we can continue the party.

This was the way we where brought up and most surly the reason for the way I am today and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Yes definetly. I'll be honest, when we lose i take it pretty bad and can be a really sore/bitter loser at times, especially when we got beat by killie the other week, after it i just wanted to be left alone and calm down about it but i had mates giving it what for, taking further than a bit of banter and i got really angry with them.i dont see it as 'just a game' celtic are my life and the results lose, win and draw will affect me.if we get beat by someone like barca then im not bothered as theyre a top quality side but its dropping points to killie, falkirk etc that get to me.
But when we win its the best,im on top of the world until to the next game, especially when we beat the huns. But i hate the build up before an OF the nerves, worry, what if's that happen before it,but you cant beat the seeing the look of a beaten hun :D

Excellent summary man. :50:

Yes, Celtic have a huge bearing on my mood and feelings, probably too much but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'd love to forward this thread to Peter Lawell, Dr. Reid & Dermont Desmond.

It really does show how much Celtic means to people & how results & performances have a real effect on people's emotions if not their entire life & existence.

Excellent response - some very honest replies....:50:

Yeah it does affect me emotionally as I have an emotional attachment to the club and my fellow supporters. When we win it does make me happy for the rest of the day and if we lose I do feel angry/frustrated/sad/gutted. I can put a defeat or a draw behind me pretty quickly if I really want to but the initial disappointment is always there.

People are saying it's just a game and if you think of that literally, they're correct. It is just a game where 11 v 11 (or 11 + the ref for the huns) are kicking a ball about but it football does mean a lot to people. It's a source of identity, pride and passion for thousands and this is especially true when supporting a club like Celtic. It gives people somewhere they feel they belong and I can understand why losing gets us down.

However, family and friends are far more important than football to me.

Edit: After the final league game of last season I sat in the stand for ages just feeling low and gutted. Shortly after the final whistle, wind up texts from Rangers fans that I knew started flying in. These texts were from guys I consider good friends but at that very moment I wanted to introduce their faces to my fists and I haven't been in a fight for years. Sometimes, I just can't help the way I feel after Celtic lose/draw.

Edit2: I'm still gutted about the 2002/2003 season. Can't believe we ended up without a trophy.

Edit: I have no idea why it's capitalising random letters.

Nothing can ruin the weekend more than a Saturday 12.30 defeat.

I can relate to that. I really struggle to get any sleep at all the night before an OF game and getting my breakfast eaten on the morning of the game is difficult too.

I've never struggled with finishing breakfast before an OF game Marky, mainly because I'm a greedy *! :icon_mrgreen:

But I also get really nervous before a game v them. The anticipation can be unbearable!
