Strange the number of line-ups in here that have got Johansen playing deep considering the improvement in his game since moving further forward.

The St Mirren game is more important I think.

As has been said, we are finishing second in the group no matter what so it's, in theory, meaningless.

Don't want to chance any slip ups this weekend.

    Biton Kayal

    Griffiths

That would be my team with the squad that travelled to Zagreb.

I'd go one further and say this game is more important than any league game (cups apart, because they're single elimination) for the remainder of the season.

We're going to win the league, we can drop points there.

However, we need all the European coefficient points we can muster these days, plus the bonus money for wins (meager tho in comparison to CL, it's still revenue we could use). Our coefficient, in the end, will have a much more significant and enduring effect on the club than any one league game.

We're also not in a position to be passing on competitive (or semi-competitive, since they're out) matches that we have to raise our game for.

I think there's a reckless streak in him that is not discouraged.

Dropping Brown is 100% the correct thing to do. We can't finish anywhere other than 2nd in the group, why risk a potential booking that would keep your captain out of the first leg of the knock-out phase. Brown is one player we have that is fully committed in every tackle he goes in for, you can't just take that out him, otherwise he wouldn't be the same player, so it's not out of the question that he would pick up a yellow tonight. Deila has got this one spot on for me.

He had 3 bookings in total last year, that's not bad discipline, is it?

Do we get money for a win?
That would be the only incentive

How the * can you tell a CM not to pick up bookings?

I would be concerned if my midfielders didn't pick up the odd booking, especially the ball winning ones.

He could quite easily pick up a yellow for an accidental challenge. I'm not sure why anyone would want to run that risk in a game that is going to have no bearing on where we finish in the group. The next game is will be far more important, and I would rather have our captain playing. Imagine if Deila played Brown tonight, and he did pick up a dubious yellow, the finger would be pointed directly at Deila for playing him in the first place.

could get booked for anything accidental or otherwise someone going down easy or whatever I think its a smart decision leaving him out give kayal or biton a start in the centre give scepovic a chance up front again a few people should be given a chance to prove themselves tonight.

Spot on, it was a ridiculous post..

I had broony in my team but no way with 1 booking away and us already qualified in our position should we jeopardize that, i'd rather broony picked up no booking next game but if i was to pick it'd be next game where we've had our best team out and got a result to take in to a second leg without him..

Ronnys made the right calls here when you sit back and look at who's out..
