Very simple, he keeps on forgetting to track men running by him. Never saw Broony cover that much defensively in midfiekd for a long time.

He's good on the ball and I'd definitely have him in more of a three man midfield but he was lucky on the weekend for Broony and Johansen's awareness and work rate.

Against Hearts he didn't need to worry about it, tonight is a far different story though.

This for me, by all means change it up but why play players in positions where there weaker?
Why not play kayal with bitton and even put johansen on the right if commons is in, instead of Mcgregor..
Grifiths for scepovic but can see why he's in with a game with nothing onnit to grab another much needed confidence boosting goal..

Ever the optimist, 2-1 the Celtic..

    Commons, Scep ..

Interesting to see Howard has needed to make more saves than Craig Gordon by the way, saw a lot of folk write us off when compared to Everton.

And the forum explodes into posts of I never doubted him and then goes mental when he doesn't score on the weekend in his 20 minute cameo after Guidetti's hat trick :icon_mrgreen:

Agreed, but I don't think you could say he was shocking overall. Hopefully he develops that side of his game.

Majority of the games he's played beside Mulgrew this season he's covered Mulgrew's running and tracking. Bitton has a great range of passing, good close control and see's runs, he passes the ball forward than sideways like Mulgrew and makes good interceptions and tackles. Not sure who you've been watching.

Particular bugbear of mines, don't just let guys run * by you! It's either sheer laziness or stupidity.

Even Ki who was * at tracking midfield runners at least attempted to (and has lesrned it properly in England now btw)

Scepovic to score a brace is 14/1! Cracking odds.

Nah, Mulgrew knows how to cover defensively. I've not saw Biton manage it, he needs to do so sharpish.

Not just this year, last year as well. Got away with it more last year because of 3 men in midfield to cover each other and one was mostly Joe Ledley who is a * master at covering players around him.

This seems to be the attitude of many and exactly why fans won't ever fully appreciate him IMO. He doesn't put himself about like Wanyama so people automatically don't notice the job he does.

He breaks the play up brilliantly, keeps posession, looks for a forward pass when on and is ridiculously calm on the ball. Just because he doesn't run about daft like Brown or Kayal doesn't mean he should not be in the side.

Miles better option than Mulgrew in there.

I thought we'd win with ease tonight but i've just realised we're Scottish and our best player is Norwegian and we're not world beaters :54:

His calmness on the ball is great, sometimes he takes it a bit far but he'll be rusty just now, that's fine, i don't think he breaks up the play, he does try and tackle but the way he reads the game isn't up there and he constantly lets men run by him. More Ki than Paul Lambert.
