It was his first hard tackle of the game really and it was a shocker. Going by what earned bookings by the referee earlier then he did deserve it. However, had the referee not been giving out so many silly bookings, Thompson may of still been on. Referee was quite happy to give them out when the first sign of trouble came up. Wasn't impressed.

You all need to take your head out of your arses the tackle was a shocker. I knew he was getting sent off as soon as I saw it. Dougal said before the match he would take no nonsense from anyone, that had to be the most stupid * tackle you could make on the * HALF WAY LINE.

Bad tackle, no one can deny that, but would he of been sent off had Dougal not made a couple of silly bookings early on? I think not...

Sticky Bun a.k.a * Hun, no player is a disgrace when they play with that much passion for the club no one knows the intensity of an old firm game for a player i'd like to see how you would handle it in their shoes, the tackle was never a sending off but you can't expect more when your wearing the green and white, it felt like da ja vu when I saw the Murray challenge and just a yellow. Shock!

I personnally think tat it was a bad tackle but it did not deserve a red card as it was the first real tackle of the game.

Was a bad tackle but was expecting a yellow, certainly not a red. Was very very shocked indeed.

maybe not as I don't think there was any malice involved but it was a stupid tackle by someone who should have known better and only has himself to blame

It's a contact sport for * sake...get a grip, it was a yellow if even that...a warning would have sufficed.
If these refs get away with being card happy at football matches, it's gonna turn into a non-contact game....get these ref to * off.....

....Its a mans game...if you cant handle a couple of early tackles...go run off te yer mam...

No - based purely on the fact that Rodriguez, Camara and Murray all stayed on the park for similar tackles. Dougal had a tenner on him to be sent off.

Lennon is the disgrace here, not Thommo, who has been victimised by officials in OF games far too often.

but did he really need to commit himself into a challenge when novo was clearly away from him and when it took place just inside the celtic half? - it really was crazy, and i still cant understand for the life of me why he did it!

Oh I understand that, it was a stupid and reckless challenge from a guy whose attitude has stunk recently and should know better. I don't in any way condone or sympathise with what he did, but at the same time the referee showed shocking inconsistency and incompetence in sending him off.

Thommo should have never given him the excuse to bring out the red, but that doesn't mean it was right to send him off.
