He tried to change things far 2 quick and made a tonne of mistakes but i will say 1 thing tony mobray was probly 1 of the unluckiest celtic managers we have ever had!!! it was the players on the pitch that have contributed next to * all and have missed sitters for the majority of his 9 months in charge, so he has them 2 blame but his dealings in the transfer dint help him out either and imo

I think robson and caldwell were sold behind his back!!!

I feel for big tony i really wanted him to well, but the board made the right choice in getting rid of him and half a this team needs kicked in the short and curlys for some of there below par, pathetic, shambolic, and utter * discraceful performances this season and i hope lennon comes in and picks a decent team and gets some of these numptys who dont deserve to ever wear the hoops to * right out that first team!!!

feel sorry he has landed a big pay off that ordinary working fans will be lucky to see in a lifetime.he was the wrong choice from day one and only has himself to blame, this fantasy football he spoke about is for dreamers like him to play on the playstation.the celtic job is for an experienced man,not somebody trying to cut there teeth in management the next one has to be the right one.peter lawwell does a great job for us in difficult times,so please peter keep up the good work and pick us a good manager

yes he has let the club down with his choice of players, he is someone with passion for our club
as for the team he pick"t players that he got in they didn't even offer TM a shift of work playing for him,
    sad as it is

Thought this was a good article with a different view. I personally liked most of the players Mowbray brought in and we will never know if he could have brought in the right defence.
Dismissal of Tony Mowbray was wrong

Mowbray does indeed seem to be a class act as a person. But sadly he was that bad as Celtic manager and it is better for Celtic and for Tony Mowbray that he is gone now.

His team slections and often his subs were bizzare to say the least. Yes we want good attractive attacking football to watch but you don't build championship winning teams from the front backwards. His so called vision well I just have no idea what that was. Plus sadly his tenure produced way to many unwanted firsts. There was no passion, no fight and no balance to Mowbrays Celtic.

I as others did were hopeful that we would see exciting attractive winning football when Mowbray got the Celtic job last summer. But hopeful is the key word. I remember being totally underwhelmed by Mowbrays appointment. It stuck me as another piece of downsizing by the Celtic board and it has come back to bite us in the * big time.

This time we need Celtic to appoint a top quality coach who can galvanize the team like O'Neill did when he took over. Mark Hughes or Davie Moyes would be my preferences.

The article as a fair point but the short term results were shocking tbh

Whilst you strive for the players to carry out the philosophy you vision, you should still be able to get the best out of what you have at your disposal, you should be able to devise a tactic to suit what you have between transfer windows, Mowbray looked out of his depth and had serious doubts over whether his philosophy would work in the SPL.

For me, that comment is what got him sacked

Strachan managed the last 16 of the Champions League twice, first modern day manager Celtic manager to get that far. That snipe is harsh considering the state of Scottish Football in general.

im against all that, you can't call him a *, you know nothing off the guy. He seemed a good guy but maybe this job was a step too far. Remember this bhoy made the huddle and now we should move on and remember him for that. Thanks Tony, you gave it a go hope you do well in your next job.

Read it and did have second thoughts about his sacking. im not a huge TM fan but was willing to give the guy to the end of season and if he won the cup then give him a crack at next season. This article has made me confused:87:

Cant disagree im not making excuses but Mowbray was quoted saying that he never expected thompson to even get one first team game this year and and his other cb was a player he had sent away on loan, Mainly injurys have contributed to this but I feel the board are hugely responsible by not stumping up the money for the quality cbs that were needed in january. I am very concerned Mowbray had started buiding a team and now we are back to square one that can only favour rangers unless our board realise they are going to have to invest in a proven manager.

I think Mowbray has done the same as John Barnes - Venglos, left some quality players for a quality manager to build a good team. (thats if we get one)

Mowbray was out his depth, his body Lanuague was all wrong, the way he handled the media, the way he changed the team to quickly. Nice man, terrible manager.

Lawwell has to get the next appiontment right, cause if he does not, it will be him out of a job next summer.

what i never understood about mowbray was, he wanted to play a passing game right? yet , he never played crosas the best passer in the team and decided to play scott brown (not very good at passing alot of the time) and nguemo (misplaces alot of passes). if you dont have midfielders who can pass then you cant play a passing game.

You are right ,a lot of things that Mowbray did before ,during a game didnt add up ,but i agree with Crosas and N"Guemo being the best partnership in that midfield this season but it was all to easy for TM to break it up,only he knows why.

We need people in the middle of the park, that have a bit of fight, N'guemo and crossas long term its not the answer or ki for that matter. our team has become far to soft under Mowbray. You can maybe play one of them but not 2 together.

If lennon does well and gets the job, bet you will see a few hard men brought in, thats what we are needing, big time.

Guys like Lennon, Lambert, Robson, Hartley, thats what we are missing in the middle of the park.

he baffled me almost every game, crosas would be in my team. people say hes too light weight but i dont think so he gets stuck in as much as anyone. this is one of the things that started putting me off mogga. he chopped and changed too much.
