Hopefully this gets the go ahead and its a decent hotel, not some 3 star effort, but a good 4/5 star hotel. If its good I might even convince 'herself' to come to a game :57:

Great news. Important to bring in another revenue stream, since SPFL prize money will never be adequate, and CL money can never be counted upon.

Hope this is nailed on with investment already identified, and not dependent on qualifying for CL x years in a row and/or player sales...

Have we not got a shareholder who's involved in this sector?

Very interesting. Need to strike a balance though, the football side must always be taken care of first.

About time ! Looks great though.
Interestingly this looks like it set to go opposite to wear the original design was, so in theory both could be built.

I'm sure it will be mate.

New pitch in the summer and hopefully this hotel and museum stuff gets approved. We're certainly on the way up.

Is there a map that shows what Celtic owns in that area? I'm sure I've seen one before. Just taking a look on google maps (havent been to celtic park in a while), the daavaar st (between the store and the ticket office) area looks like it's needing an upgrade. Canny have a nice hotel/musem looking over a dump.

Have to say though, looking at it on google maps, the whole area is much better than it used to be.

4/5 star hotel in parkhead ??
    how would booking.com sell this.
close to ''the barras'' perfect for cheap ''dodgy'' * and knocked off gear.
only a 10min walk to the bars and restaurants of bridgeton, glasgows answer to new york's 5th avenue.
and obviously the biggest selling point would be the close proximity to the industrial estates of dalmarnock.

I'd imagine the new proposed hotel/museum would be built on top of the current superstore, and the superstore (i suspect) may be rebuilt on top of the ticket store and school - which will be the one mega building for store/tickets/pools

Alongside the hotel being built they could also increase capacity in the stadium maybe to 70000 or 75000.
This would enhance everything around and in the stadium.
The hotel would cost a fortune to build.

Wouldnt need to sell it, think of all the people who come over for Celtic games all the time. They'd mostly stay in it 1 minute walk from the Kerrydale bar for opening time on matchday, or people going to that velodrome across the street.

They could include it in those travel offer things as well, like overnight stay before a match that they currently use other hotels for. For Cup finals and whatever Celtic fans from Edinburgh and Aberdeen or wherever would probably travel down the night before and stay there before going to games the next day. Would do plenty of business just from Celtic fans alone. Especially if they do wee offers like you get 10% off tickets or spending in the Superstore if you stay there.

Think of hun games at home as well, book the day in the hotel, check in sit in your room getting tanked up before the game, doon the stair and in the stadium in 2 minutes, head along the gallowgate after it then 2 minute taxi back to sleep at night, might even show Celtic TV for free in it in the rooms to re-watch us pumping them as you go to sleep :36::35::57::celtman2:
