    Gordon

    Lustig Denayer Van Dijk Izaguirre

    Brown Bitton

    Forrest Johansen Armstrong

    Griffiths/Guidetti.

Forrest is twice the player GMS is, and if we can keep him fit he will be a real asset. Also Forrest over Commons for me and Commons doesnt work in the middle.

Brown and Bitton need to stay together, Bitton will end up being great for us.

Aye, he barely scored over 30 goals from there last season.

    Forrest will never stay fit.

Doubted the guy big time :54: Maybe should have considered the fact that he'd come from a small Norwegian side who's ambition was to compete at the top of their domestic league to a massive club who expect to win the vast majority of their games and qualify for CL or at least make a fist of Europa. I'd imagine he would have known very little about Scottish football. So probably no wonder he got off to a sticky start. He has adapted our playing style brought in several players to the first team squad and handles the media very well. He's also brought passion and entertainment value with the Ronny roar. The players seem to love him. One defeat in 17 is credit to the man. Apologies Ronny but as I've said before on here I know * all about football :smiley-laughing002: you clearly do :celt_2::50:

He's shown balls of steel, if I was appointed Celtic manager I'd * ma kecks

I agree, especially with the Jamsey sentiment. How can we call ourselves Deilas Dynamos without Forrest in the team.

That was playing off the Striker in a different formation. Commons was hopeless through the middle in this formation at the start of the season and there is no getting away form that.

I'm not going to say I've backed him to the hilt. I'll even say I got a bit panicky when things weren't going our way for a few weeks. My bad.

Love the man. I think we're on the right track, but not there yet.

Deila was always going to need time to settle and bring in his own players. Lennon got loads of time after the Mowbray disaster to get rid of the * and build his own squad, which is exactly what Ronny is doing now.

He's only had two transfer windows, and the signs are looking very promising. Players like Guidetti, Armstrong and GMS are all guys that Lennon would probably have never signed. He would have went for some unknown African or Israeli guy instead.

That's not me knocking Lennon's transfer policy, as it worked wonders at times, but I also like Deila's mindset that we should be signing more homegrown players, aswell as strikers such as Guidetti who are proven at a reasonably high level.

    Great thread.

And is satisfying to see the plan looking like its coming together.

Nothing won yet though and it was pleasing to hear Ronny saying Sun means nothing unless we beat Dundee.

I genuinely fear after back to back trebles we'll struggle to keep hold of Ronny.

No, we're no catching the might Aberdeen. :56:

I knew it wouldn't be long before all that nonsense spouted a few weeks ago would be disproved relatively quickly.

If you're being serious, I agree.

Disappointed we didn't offer at least like a 3 year contract, rather than a one year rolling contract. He's only on about 5k a week, even if we paid him off it wouldn't be that much (if we had to).

Wow . where to start . Forrest is twice the player GMS is ? He is quicker , but GMS has more skill, a better cross and a better shot . Plus he isn't injured every five minutes .

Commons doesn't work in the middle ? You not been watching celtic the past three and a half years then ? He's scored almost 70 goals from the middle . "Forrest over Commons for me " ....based on what exactly ?!

I put my faith in him and I think he will do well.

However, the jury is well and truly still out for me. I think a good judgement can be made by September following the Qualifiers. However, a good run in the Europa League could be enough for me to make a positive judgement on him but I'm not going to hold my breath on that.

I think Ronny's pretty loyal. Most Scandinavian players are.

I'd tend to agree with this although I wouldn't be certain. I couldn't see him leaving us for a mediocre premier league side or even a good European side along the lines of Villarreal or Lyon.

Here's hoping anyway.. Long long way to go before we have to worry about any of that.

Our managers are always on a 1 year rolling contract.

Do agree he is class though and if we are certain someone is good then it would stop Prem/Championship teams from pinching them.

Forrest is a better technical player than GMS, Forrest has a better touch, better close control, better at dribbling and taking players on and also has more of an end product. GMS can give you that moment of amazing skill but if you watched him for utd you will see how often he goes missing. Forrest is seriously underrated by a lot of people just because they cant see past his injuries.

Again, Commons does not work in the middle in this formation. There is really no arguing this point. The way we played under Lennon with Commons off the striker is completely different to how we play now, how can this be so hard for people to understand? Commons has no pace, his touch is atrocious and he slows everything down, he only works on the wing in this formation. The difference in Johansen and Commons through the middle is clear to see, Johansen does things quickly, is far more creative, constantly moving and also pressing.Commons offers none of this so therefore he does not work in the middle.

Funny that, i distinctly seem to remember us getting * out of Europe by Xmas by Braga and the mighty Utrecht in Lenny's first season in charge (which of course is the most comparable season to Deila's.) I wonder how their resources compared to ours?

Or of course Artmedia In Strachan's first season.

Or of course MON's first season when he was out of Europe by November.

Or, you know, not meaning to be controversial here - maybe you could wind your * neck in and just give our manager some support, galling as it must be.
